RFC-185

by Darius Kazemi, July 4 2019

In 2019 I'm reading one RFC a day in chronological order starting from the very first one. More on this project here. There is a table of contents for all my RFC posts.

Bring enough for the whole class

RFC-185 is titled “NIC Distribution of Manuals and Handbooks”, authored by Jeanne North of the SRI Network Information Center (NIC). It's dated July 7th, 1971.

The technical content

This is something of a follow up to RFC-182. The NIC asks that anyone who sends them a manual should also send enough copies that that can distribute them to all Station Agents. They request 100 copies, since they currently distribute to about 80 addresses, and they only expect the number to go up.
