In 2019 I'm reading one RFC a day in chronological order starting from the very first one. More on this project here. There is a table of contents for all my RFC posts.
RFC-306 is titled “Network host status”. It's authored by Ellen Westheimer of BBN and dated February 15, 1972.
The technical content
The numbers, from January 31 to February 11:
- 83 dead
- 55 open
- 18 half open
- 13 timed out
- 1 refused
We are still at about 50% online status for the longest-running ARPANET servers, and 32% overall.
