RFC-75 is by Steve Crocker of UCLA, dated October 14th, 1970 and titled “Network Meeting”.

The technical content

This RFC informs all recipients that there will be a Network Meeting at the Fall Joint Computer Conference in Houston at the Astroworld Hotel at 8pm on Monday November 16th, 1970.

The Astroworld Hotel was, in 1970, arguably the most luxury hotel in the world, and according to this history of the hotel featured “the most expensive suite in the world”, part of its variety of Celestial Suites offered to rich visitors. The meeting was not held in one of these suites, but I like to imagine that it was (check out the PT Barnum Suite!!!). There's another incredible gallery here.
