Everyone’s Contribution Is Important in order to Control Pollution—Forest Minister Mr Sudhir Mungantiwar

Forest Minister Mr Sudhir Mungantiwar recently said that every citizen’s active contribution is necessary for preventing noise, air, water, and solid waste pollution and these efforts are necessary for the betterment of humanity as a whole.

Forest Minister Mr Sudhir Mungantiwar felt extremely privileged to have inaugurated a booklet regarding the same, on the occasion of “National Pollution Control Day, 2015”. During this event, he expressed his views on the importance of pollution control and how we can tackle it. The said event was also attended by the Finance Department’s Upper Chief Secretary Mr Sudhir Srivastava, Chief Secretary Planning Department- Mr Sunil Porwal, Principal Chief Conservator and Director General, Social Forestry Dr Arvind Kumar Jha, and many other eminent personalities.

The Forest department has undertaken and executed many campaigns for solving various issues related to pollution in public interest. The booklet launched today defines the slogan — “Ukti Nave, Prayatnapurvak Thos Kruti, Loksahbahgatun Pradushan Mukti”, meaning – Not only talking or quoting but the implementation of action and a pollution-free life through means of public participation. This booklet has elaborated the details on the losses of lives incurred due to pollution, various pollution-causing factors and remedial measures to control the same. In addition to this, the booklet also throws light on the disciplinary measures to be followed while enjoying forest tourism and the responsibility of tourists.
