Maybank Pay for Android Pie

Maybank Pay was a great apps to use in daily basis besides the Samsung Pay although their offering is not as good as Samsung Pay. Yet the function of cashless payment still great.

I have used the Maybank Pay for more than 1 year with awesome experience. Now, since I migrated to OnePlus 6 Open Beta 9, the Maybank Pay is no longer supported Android Pie.

I have written an email to their development team to seek their feedback on this. They should upgrade their apps and ensure the readiness with Android Pie since more user will upgrade to Pie.

However, their response is not really convincing me. I hope that they able to expedite the release of Maybank Pay for Android Pie.

Major security flaw in IE

I believe that many of us used Google Chrome as default Internet browser instead of IE. Right?

Anyway, a major security flaw has been discovered in the latest version of Internet Explorer.

The IE browser security can be bypassed allowing attackers to steal login details and user data to any site and they can also launch phishing attacks.

Based on Lowyat.net, this security flaw was discovered by Google’s Threat Analysis Group.

So, let us run the Windows Update as soon as possible!

Windows Sandbox

It's been a while after the VM mode for Windows XP inside Windows 7, now the new Windows 10 come up with new VM mode kinda, called as Windows Sandbox.

Anyway, before proceed with anything this Windows Sandbox only come with Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise, Insider build 18305 or newer. Windows Sandbox is a new lightweight desktop environment tailored for safely running applications in isolation.

I still waiting for this features to be present inside my machine. Let us wait and see how can we play around with it! :)

Been away from this page for few weeks.

Now I'm enrolled for OnePlus 6 Open Beta 9.

They added a number of small, yet significant, changes with this update where OnePlus has updated the Android security patch to December 2018.

Within 48 hours of trial, the battery performance for my phone is slightly improved. Some say that the social media apps affected the battery life performance. However, as for now my phone able to survive for almost a day and half (do take note that I am not a gamer thus no gaming mode is turn on and no game installed).

Still figure out on how long the battery and stay up.

Been using the Oneplus 6 for two weeks now and first impressions didn't disappoint. I wanted a dual SIM phone since I don't like carrying two phones with me.

To the phone itself, what I like is how fast it is, no lag whatsoever no matter what I'm doing. The UI is clean and refreshingly free of bloatware.

I don't do photography but the snaps I have taken are good enough for me. If you are into camera phones then I'm really not the best to comment on how good or bad it is.

Overall though the phone is great for me and I'm very happy with it. Definitely recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a dual SIM phone.

OnePlus 6 Open Beta 7.

A new beta has landed for the OnePlus 6.

This one brings some fixes and improvements to telephony and other communications, plus some extra launcher options.

These builds are sometimes not as stable as the official OTAs generally are. Based on my previous experience, the battery life is slightly improved from stable OTAs. However, there was few workaround shared by the OnePlus community where you need to wipe cache either from the Apps Management or from the Recovery Mode.

You will experience blurry text in Office applications when you have more than one monitor and the external monitor has a different screen resolution than the primary monitor.

Microsoft is aware of the problem and is actively working on improving multi-monitor support in Office for Office 365 subscribers, and Office 2016 Click-to-Run installations.

If user are using an Office application and having blurry issue, these workarounds may help:

Sign out of Windows and then Sign in back.

If applications look blurry after connecting or disconnecting a monitor, signing out of Windows can fix this.

Applications on your primary monitor should look crisp after logging back in.

Best Phone I Ever Had. Hahaha.

I've accidently purchased OnePlus 6 after few weeks of research to figure out best for for me. Previously I used Xiaomi Mi 6 but due to the no audio jack and not a water resistant phone, I decided to upgrade to OnePlus.

This happened when my housemate purchased OnePlus 6T to replace his stolen OnePlus 6. The experience of using OxygenOS was awesome. All the specs, at half the price. It is super fast, and OxygenOS is so light, and so close to stock Android.

Plus, due to 11.11 promotion at Lazada.MY, I got rebate of MYR400 from the original price.

The OnePlus 6 that I have is the Midnight Black, 8GB RAM, 128GB Storage, it's effortless, very fast and even seems to know what I'm about to do before I've done it.

In Windows 10 v1607 (Redstone 1) and later, Microsoft decided to convert the legacy Sticky Notes program to a UWP app (Universal Windows Platform), and this is what we are using currently on Windows 10.

The classic Sticky Notes store the data in a .snt file whereas the current Sticky Notes app stores the data in a .sqlite file.

To convert old Sticky Notes StickyNotes.snt data file to the new Sticky Notes plum.sqlite format do the following:

• On your Windows 10 machine, close Sticky Notes.

• Now open Settings > Apps > Sticky Notes > Advanced Options. Press the Reset button. The app will be reset to default, and all app data will be deleted as well.

• Locate the legacy Sticky Notes data %AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes

• Rename the data file StickyNotes.snt to ThresholdNotes.snt

• Do not open Sticky Notes app now. Instead, open File Explorer and navigate to the following folder: %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Legacy

• Copy the DB to the new location Copy ThresholdNotes.snt to %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Legacy

NOTE: If the Legacy folder does not exist, you will need to create this folder here in the LocalState folder and then place the ThresholdNotes.snt file from your older Windows system here in the Legacy folder.
