[My Everything: Part One]

-iksong-

The Lee family had planned to spend the end together in the park, but they finally decided to stay at home due to the extreme weather.

After dinner, Ikjun received a call from the hospital saying that there was a critical patient and immediately needed surgery. With sadness and heavy heart, Ikjun left his beloved wife, Songhwa, and his beloved son Lee Uju.

Ikjun was very worried and uneasy about having to leave his two loved ones alone at home. Especially with the condition of Songhwa, who was pregnant at a very young gestational age, and Uju, who seemed to had a little fever this morning.

As it was getting late at night, Songhwa took Uju to the bedroom and tried to put him to sleep after compressing his body, in the hope that his fever will quickly go down. Songhwa stretched out her arms and hugged Uju tightly, keeping him warm. She gently stroked Uju's hair.

'Eomma, when will appa finishes his surgery?'

'He will be home in no time, my dear.'

Uju nodded, shifting closer to Songhwa.

'Eomma, I'm scared.' Uju cried out.

Songhwa held Uju even tighter, trying to comfort him.

'No, don't be scared, my little one. Look, Eomma is here. I'm here with you. You'll be safe, always.' Songhwa caressed his cheeks.

'But what about appa, eomma?' Uju looked at Songhwa with eyes filled with fear.. 'The rain is terrifying outside. How will appa get home? Will appa be safe?'

She held Uju's hand and lightly squeezed it, placing it upon her chest.

'Appa will get home safe. He will. He must.'

Uju hid his face in Songhwa's chest, slowly drifting to sleep himself, in the warmth of Songhwa's embrace.

'Now, off you go. Try to get some sleep, okay? When you open your eyes, I promise appa will be right next to you.' Songhwa stroked Uju's back affectionately. 'Eomma will protect you, don't be scared.'

With his soft dreamy voice, Uju whispered, 'And Uju will be here too to protect eomma and baby.'
