What if I told you God was real? What if I told you He sent His son to die for you? You might ask, “Why would He do that? It seems pointless.” But in fact, it was for a specific reason. Here, let me tell you a story.

When mankind was first created, all we knew was goodness. We didn't see evil in anything. We were just blind to it.

But before I go any further, let's rewind some. In the hosts of heaven, Lucifer, God's right-hand angel, became jealous, and he wanted to have God's power. God wouldn't have it, so He faught against Lucifer, and the fight ended in him bring kicked out of Heaven. Lucifer convinced a third of the angels to follow him on his way out of God's presence and they prowled the earth looking for revenge. Lucifer became known as Satan, and his followers as demons.

Now, back to our beginning; when all we saw was the good side of things. God gave us a beautiful garden to live in, with all types of plants providing the food needed to survive without effort. But there was a tree of good and evil. And in it's fruit, held the power to open our eyes to the evil of the world.

Now let me stop you right there. I know, why on earth would God create such a tree if He knew the destruction it would cause? Easy, because He didn't want us to be slaves. He wanted us to choose for ourselves how we live.

Back to the story, God commanded us to not eat from the tree, and we listened. Then one day, Satan snuck into the garden disguised as a serpent. He came up to Eve, and decived her into believing she would receive God's power if she ate the fruit. She then went and convinced Adam to eat it as well. And that was the beginning of the fall for mankind.

God gave us the choice, but He never wanted us to choose sin. He wants to be close to us, but our sin is an eternal barrier between us. There was only one way to break that barrier, and so God did what He had to.

Happiness is not something you can grant yourself. It's not something to be bought, or to be earned, it is something that can only be found in Jesus Christ. But don't expect to be happy all the time. Even if you seek the Lord all the time, you will not always be happy. Go read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 The Lord says there is a time for everything. A time for everything! Sadness and despair are bound to be in that category. Praise the Lord in all situations. It does not count how much you praise Him in the calm, happy days, any fool can do that. The real test is when things get bumpy and depressing. That is when it counts. That is what God will remember on judgment day. That is what determines who and what you are. And it is entirely your choice.

Indeed, it can be easy to feel as if you've lost control over how you react in times of temptation, but ultimately, your response is up to you in the end.

Which for me, is always the main cause for my guilt. I sometimes want to deny it, but it's the truth.

God will never stop us from doing what we want (or should I say what we think we want) even though He knows the painful consciences that are sure to follow.

Even so, there is always a way out and around the temptation. He always provides a way of escape, and no matter how difficult it looks to reach, that escape is possible with Him.

Even when we fall to temptation, He is always there afterwards to offer a hand in our comeback. All we have to do is except it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.”

I'm praying for you. If you're reading this, I am and have been praying for you.

I don't know what you're going through, but I think I can rest assured that even if you're not aware of anything yet, there is a trail at hand.

I pray that you will feel God's peace and know that HE is where it comes from. Not from anything you do or anyone you hangout with.

Maybe that can give you momentary happiness, but I'm talking about everlasting, overwhelming peace. God's peace.

I pray that you will feel confident in your trust in God. Knowing without a doubt that He IS there and He IS working even when you can't see it or feel it. I like to believe that THAT is when He does the MOST work.

I pray that when you get through this time of great struggle, you will only be closer to Him, and that you will not have let the Devil decive you into believing that God is no longer for you. Because THAT IS a lie.
You are His child and He is the father you have always wished you had; the perfect Father. Loving, gracious, generous, wanting what's best for you. Even though, in the moment and maybe till a long time in the future, you only see it as the most unnecessary and unforgivable thing He could have done.

But that's not true. He saw into the future and knew what would be the best for you.

Maybe you needed to make a change that you never would have realized needed to change untill that unbelievable thing happened that you blame on God. You shouldn't be blaming God, you should be thanking Him.

That right there probably made you really mad, and I'm sorry, but that's just the way I see it.

A feeling I have experience with is what you feel when you are confident that God will answer your prayer. So confident that you don't even spend much time saying goodbye even when it's quite obvious that a friend is really dying. The feeling of pure shock.

No matter how great your confidence is in God, you have to be prepared for the unbelievable.

We may not understand why God doesn't answer us, and that will weigh us down a lot. But we need to get back up and realize we cannot rely on our own understanding.

What we don't see in those moments, is that it will actually be a good thing in the end.

Try to look at your situation with a different perspective, one where you don't try to understand why, but instead you pray that He will give you the strength to detect the lies and to bind them and to focus instead on the truth; God loves you and will never abandon you.
