2022, the year of walking
is drawing to an end.
I started moving more and more of my focus to P. Went from talking a lot about this path to actually start walking it, with commitment!
But, even though I've went thru this transition, it seems to be a stepping stone, a rite of passage into becoming more practical/real.
A lot of my efforts in 2022 have been directed towards laying a foundation to build upon. This involved a lot of studying theoretical concepts involving the game. From how to approach different aspects to learning about the underlying principles/drivers & mechanics.
This meant not much tangible returns. Instead of harvesting fruit, I was still busy sowing seeds. Instead of building up the castle walls, I was still laying scouting the terrain & laying the foundations.
I know this is all necessary precursory work to attain longevity in the game. (Not only for the sake of #longevity but also #artistry)
(!) Go from studying how/what to study, to studying how to play (given the acquired knowledge of the different theoretical touchstones)
=> Align study & play <=> How I study/analyze: out-of-game = in-game The difference is out-of-game is assisted with solver and all its metrics
Altho, as mentioned earlier, there wasn't much tangible returns, there were some. After the first long stint (first 7 months of 2022) of trying to find my bearing by studying at the foundational layer, I went for a practice run in august which culminated, on a sunday, in a 10k+$ bink.
After august, I returned into foundational study mode (cfr. GTOx blueprint by FindingEQ). And in december, I went into playing mode again. But I've learned that there's a matter of momentum involved with playing. I was hella rusty and it shook my confidence even tho I studied a lot. Studying a ton doesn't necessarily mean that will materialize or show itself in-game. (Point granted, my study was still very much geared towards how to study VS how to play)
=> Align study & play by using in-game time (partially) as study time <=> “Study” while playing
This leads us to more specificity about out-of-game study. => Align study & play by using out-of-game study time to focus on play
With an outlook on a relocation in 2023 (March? to Austria?), I need to start generating #self-sustainability (via more playing & shifting study towards more practical applicability).
And this leads us to #2023, the year of moving with intent (More on that tomorrow)
PS. I'm very happy with the 2022 steps I've set on the path to becoming a better person in general. From, again, foundational work to practical implementation via building habits, reframing aspects of life & rewiring behaviour (both internal as external). I make it a big point to continue this journey.
