Local vs. Tourist

For a furnished apartment with bedroom and kitchen in the outskirts of Mysore, I'm paying 9000 rupees for three nights. That's about 100€.

Nesar, on the other hand, lives similarly far from the center, but in a calmer place with less traffic, in a small apartment on top of a building, with a large rooftop terrasse with a beautiful view of Chamundi hill and of the sunset and a granite stone for washing his clothes.

His monthly rent is 5000 rupees, around 56€. So as a tourist I'm paying almost 15 times as much for, well, a more modern but also less cozy apartment.

That's why I think it's a good idea to settle somewhere for a while. Because living becomes cheaper and there are more options to work locally.
