Continuing with the theme of 2 Tim chapter 4, where Paul writes about people not enduring sound doctrine, he also mentions, that they will take matters in their own hands by heaping on themselves, teachers after their own lust, having itching ears. Through the hardness of their own hearts, they will only be attracted to preachers who will tell them what they want to hear and not what they need to hear. We are witnessing more than ever, where pastors are no longer preaching about the blood of Christ which was shed for our sins, denying the bodily resurrection of Christ and teaching that Jesus is not the only way to God. We have a lot of televangelist, whose primary goal is to preach feel good messages, that excite peoples emotions but leaves them spiritually bankrupt. Now more than ever, the Church as the body of Christ, needs to be rooted and grounded in the word of God, rightly divided, and especially the dispensation of the grace of God (Ephesians chapter 3 )
