I re-submitted both the Time to Connect the Patterns and Part 5 on autism and women. I took out the bar graph. And I rewrote the text I removed from Part 5. Sufficiently to fill the space of what was removed and the original publication date.

That was yesterday. You should have both.

Jim Irion

I just published the Autism and Women article. The Time to Connect the Patterns article needs a definition of monotropism in the article (not in a link) before it gets published. The definition you sent me doesn't make grammatical sense either (maybe because of the character limit for private notes) so you'll need to use one that's differently-worded.

Kevin the Nonmonetized

Of my Autism & Denial Series, Parts 4, 5, 6, and 8 don’t show published with you.

Part 5 was autism and women. Maybe that takes time to show up?

I’d have to go back and look at the notes for Part 6, autism and minorities. Maybe I went through them too fast to remember what the issues were for Parts 4 and 8..?

Jim Irion

Part 5 is published onto Nonmonetized Together right here: https://medium.com/non-monetized-together/we-need-to-take-autistic-women-seriously-part-5-1a271b690f40. We need to talk about the other articles more. I sent you some messages on Facebook a couple days ago about that.

Kevin the Nonmonetized

My apologies..

It must be either Medium or the Medium mobile app. Now, Parts 1-5 are showing published by you. Part 7 is not but it displayed as earlier.

Can’t really help that. That’s Medium’s fault..

Jim Irion

Part 5 does now show published. Much obliged.

But Parts 1 through 4 aren’t anymore. Pardon I just came back from visiting family. I don’t have you on Facebook. I’m going to go back over those private notes. I knew there were outstanding questions about Part 6 and 8, I think. But I can’t access them via mobile, which I’m using right now.

My Autism & Denial Series is redundant because my newer Autism Advocacy Series covers all that happened in 2023 with the knowledge I gained throughout the entire year. So, the Denial Series might not necessarily be what you want if I’ve already written about it more recently.

On Facebook, I said you can embed your video about double empathy in the relevant articles so readers can know what double empathy means. I also said that you should add the definition of monotropism in the articles that mention it, and that the definition you sent me over Medium Notes didn't make grammatical sense. Then I suggested to remove the word “non-speaking” from the Osaze Osagie example because readers might think that means he couldn't speak at all. Furthermore, in response to your Medium Note about Advocacy in Conclusion, Part 4, I wrote a Facebook message stating that you can offer advice on Nonmonetized Together but it shouldn't dominate the article.

There is a specific YouTube video that was the source of my understanding of the Double Empathy Problem Theory. Autistic researcher, Kieran Rose (The Autistic Advocate) is who created it. His formal experience in research was essential because he's not a random uneducated person. His videos properly summarize such formal theories without loss of legitimacy or accuracy. I've linked to this video in my writings. I could switch the link in Time to Connect the Patterns from the formal theory to Rose's video if you wish? I have the link handy and could easily change it.

As far as embedding*, presuming you mean on Medium, I am not sure how to specifically do that unless you mean creating a hyperlink. My knowledge of using this site is only what I've been able to figure out to use it. Not in excess of all features. If embedding something I missed and could use I would be grateful for the tip.

I.. would have to go back over the private notes to see which submissions were held up regarding monotropism. I came to understand it in much the same way as the Double Empathy Problem Theory. Kieran Rose has a video on that as well that I believe I've linked to. This would leave monotropism as the only outstanding issue to be addressed.

Thank you for your patience..

Jim Irion

Yeah, you should link to the video about double empathy. Your current link doesn't seem to describe what double empathy is.

Kevin the Nonmonetized

Can you confirm if the change you’re asking for is in my Time to Connect the Patterns article, and if this same change needs to be done to any other submissions? I lost track. The aforementioned article is linked to the actual DEP Theory itself, which is public access presently. But formal theories are dense. I link to them as a default choice because it’s the source. Not necessarily for readers.

Also, I’ve been checking the submissions you’ve published both via Medium’s mobile app and Mozilla browser via laptop. I’m still seeing some that are not correctly displaying as published but were ones you indicated you did publish.

At some point, if we could decide on how to assess this, if it is a Medium platform issue (mobile versus desktop), I could submit a help ticket to them to see about getting it straightened out. Were there any submissions I needed to cancel and re-submit but haven’t (because I’ve lost track)?

If it is Medium, I want to mistakenly pressure or repeatedly ask you about it.

Jim Irion

It's for any article that doesn't explain what double empathy is.

You might as well send a help ticket.

I'm not sure what you mean by the last question.

Kevin the Nonmonetized

Disregard the final question about submissions. Using my laptop, via Mozilla browser, I checked all the articles I recall submitting to you. Without opening them, they all show published with your info displaying. You need not be concerned about this from here on.

I think “Time to Connect the Patterns” was the only article involving the Double Empathy Problem in what I submitted. So, near the end, I changed the link from the DOI website to Kieran Rose's video as advised as re-submitted it.

If the change, and video, are not satisfactory let me know. I will consider consideration from there. Thank you for accepting the ones I newly submitted yesterday. I'd forgotten to consider them.

When the above article is considered, I will wait a few days and submit the final batch of writing. My Most Common Traits reading list contains shorter and more personal writing about my lived experience. They may be of interest to you as well. But I didn't want to burden you with too many too fast.

Also, I am in the final stages of an unexpected and new writing series: Autism & Paranoia Series. It will consist of at least three 4-minute articles reflecting on topics I've never written about before. They'll be riveting to read.

Thank you, sir, for all your help thus far and consideration. I've seen a small uptick of followers, claps, and reading. I am very grateful but the final thank you is still to come.

I haven't had contact with you on Facebook. Going from the easiest first, I removed non-speaking from the Minorities article, Part 6, and made a few changes to those paragraphs (all paragraphs in my writing are split in half to make it easier for Medium readers). I just re-submitted it to you for consideration. No other changes were made.

The entire Advocacy in Conclusion Part 4 article is itself a conclusion to summarize the series. The first 3 parts share what happened. Part 4 summarizes* that experience, shares what I learned, and offers suggestions based on lived experience. There is no way for the advice not to dominate it. The entire article is a conclusion. I pre-planned to write the series because I've found readers shy away from longer writing. So, I ended up with an entire article to conclude the series. There is really nothing I can do to change that. If this is not satisfactory, let me know and I will remove it as a submission and be pleased that Parts 1-3 are accepted.

This leaves the double empathy problem and monotropism details. To keep from making this response too long, I'll stop here and split the response.

Jim Irion

I'll publish part 4. Considering the explanation you gave, I think that's fair.

I'll look over and publish your other submissions sometime soon.

Kevin the Nonmonetized

With Advocacy in Conclusion, Part 4, its your call and a wise one to consider. I know all too well there is a fine line between being an advocate and offering advice. Every time is the first time for me. I try to keep myself grounded with objectivity and people's safety in mind. One of the early lessons I learned was not to suggest what exact treatment or medication as I am not a professional. Instead, I guide them to the help they need in those cases but don not cross certain lines.

I may not realize if I do. So, questioning a large batch of advice is still mindful. I am currently responding to the other two points. If I need to cancel and re-submit Advocacy in Conclusion, Part 4 to complete the submission process let me know.

I visited family this past weekend after having 4 suicide ideations the week leading up to it. Rough week. Then, on Tuesday, my aunt we visited suddenly took ill and we're not sure if her health will fail. So, we're vigilant and on edge. Additionally, something happened closer to home that uprooted my entire day. I'd have responded sooner but home life is not the greatest in my late-diagnosed circumstances...
