Discuss the reasons why parents have the greatest impact on their child's development.

The success of children has to do with their parents. How children are raised predicts if they will succeed in life. For this reason, parents have the greatest impact on their child's development that will affect them through adulthood. That's why a child's development is very important. This essay will give three reasons why parents have the greatest impact on their child's development.

The first and foremost reason is dependency. A child, from birth to toddler age, depends on their parents for almost everything. This means that whatever the parents do and say impacts the child as much as what is withhold from him or her. The child depends on the parents for his or her every need especially physical and emotional need. A good example of this is food and a sense of love, safety and comfort.

Secondly, children are good imitators of their parents. From toddler to early childhood, children spend most of their time with their parents. At this stage, they are very inquisitive and they mimic what they see or hear from their parents. For example, if the child hears his or her parents curse, chances are the child will copy it.

Finally, parents are the most influential person in a child's life. As the child's first carer and teacher, from early childhood to adolescent and even adulthood, parents are the ones whom a child look up to. Children take everything their parents say at face value. For this reason, parents have the greatest influence on their children.

In conclusion, parents have the greatest impact on their child's development. They are the most influential person in their children's life. Their children depend on them and they copy whatever they see or observe their parents do or say. A child is like an empty tank ready to be filled and overflow as parents raise them and nurture them. If the parents have done their responsibility well, most likely their children will grow well too. I do believe that good parenting in a child's development makes a healthy and successful adult.
