DIY Window Tinting Tips For Your Car
Do you need to tint your car's windows? Tinting windows can be a tedious task but it can be accomplished without any problems with the right tools, proper coaching and a ton of patience.Before you start applying tint to your windows, make sure to clean them first and that you will be working in a clean environment.
Application of tint will be much easier if the windows are clean and the environment you are working on is organized. You can use the usual water and window cleaning solution to do the job just make sure to clean the windows thoroughly and to dry them first before proceeding with the process.
The next thing you need to do is remove those unnecessary materials from your vehicles which will make the application of tint more difficult. This includes the rubber sheets, door panels and even seals from the doors. It will be much easier to work on the windows if there are no other things obstructing your way.
Once everything is ready, you can now then start with the rear window. Rear windows usually have compound curve which makes it the most difficult window to work with. You can easily cover the rear window by creating the tint film pattern outside the window. You can do this by laying out long strings of films that overlaps the edges. Once you are done, carefully cut the pattern you have created making sure that the edges are approximately the same as the rear window.
Once you have your pattern ready, you can now then apply it in your car while carefully taking note of the exact way you did as on the outside window. It would be best if you can use a squeegee to remove air bubbles and working from the center then upwards. You can then now work yourself from top to bottom using the squeegee to remove any air bubbles as well as the spray solution used on the window.
Once the tint film is in place, use a razor blade to cut excess films overlapping each other. The process can be done on the front mirror to make it easier for you to apply the tint. Now start working on the other side windows by carefully making a pattern based on the size of the windows and using it to cut the film into perfect sizes. Make sure you use a squeegee again to remove any air bubbles. Some final touches and cleaning and you are done with applying tint on your car's windows.
