So I finally watched Anne of Green Gables and I've been meaning to give a review on it but never got a chance to until now.

I liked it. What makes Anne of Green Gables unique is that it's a story about a happy ending. Most movies spend 90% of the time having the characters fight and suffer in blood and sweat and tears. When we finally get to their happy ending, we only see 10 minutes of it.

But with Anne of Green Gables, the whole movie is her happy ending so it's higher reward. We see her suffer in the first few minutes of the movie but then the happy ending starts right away from the moment she moves to Green Gables and enters the avenue with the cherry blossoms. She's living the dream and we got to see her live it. Yes, there are little things that move the plot forward but much of it is lighthearted.

“You know something, Diana? We are rich. We have sixteen years to our credit, and we both have wonderful imaginations. We should be as happy as queens.”

That is all.

Having just watched The Sound of Music (on Disney+ of course), I'm convinced that Max is the most underrated character.

In case if you forget, this is Uncle Max. He's a minor character. Even when I was a kid, I overlooked how awesome Max was.

But despite being such a minor character, he's the best and here's why.

He likes food.

He knows how to enjoy life.

He understands the struggle of staying neutral.

But know it's really hard to stay neutral. “Hmm, doesn't feel right.” – Max, probably.

Like really, really hard. Max trying to be neutral with his neutral face:

He has fantastic one-liners.

Even the children are excited to see him.

It's no secret that Max is the comedic break but his humor is done in a very subtle way.

That is all.

Going back to my interests in travel, I present to you the primary moods of Europe.

Note: I’ve never travelled to any of these places. This is based from what I know from online.

1. France, Italy, Spain – The Cuisinier's Delight

This is the Europe that people talk about when they say they want to go to Europe. Here is where you can indulge yourself in a decadent lifestyle, enjoying the best food and wine. Italy no doubt has amazing food. French cuisine is “never second best,” as said in Beauty in the Beast. Spain is also famous for its food. Walk down the cobblestone streets with cute cafes. This is the good life.

2. Scandinavia: Norway, Sweden, Iceland – The Mysterious North

Here is where the myths of Vikings haunt this land. Nothing is more mysterious than Scandinavia, with its cold temperatures, fjords, Northern lights and ethereal landscape.

3. Bavaria: Germany, Austria, Switzerland – The Fairytale Dream

As highlighted in a previous post, this place is a land of fairytales. Coming here will make you feel like you're in the middle of a story, whether that’s a medieval fantasy in Germany, yodeling with the goatherds à la The Sound of Music in Austria or Frankenstein in Switzerland. It never ceases to be a magical place!

Don't forget to enjoy all the cheese and chocolate wherever you go! Which place is your favorite? The cuisinier’s delight, mysterious north or fairytale dream?

That is all.

Thanks to the new Disney+, I saw Tuck Everlasting.

It had been ages since I’d last seen the movie. I’d forgotten just how good it is.

The movie doesn’t waste a single opportunity to have a cinematic moment. It flawlessly moves between the different scenes and exhibits excellence in storytelling.

That is all.

*Obligatory blog post as a diehard Disney fan

*Cue rant.

I happily traded in my Netflix account for a brand new, wonderful Disney+. Finally no more Netflix trying to push me to watch their originals! No more subpar content!

Stream all the best stories, really. Quality over quantity!

I'm sick of Netflix pushing their originals as much as Robin is sick of puns at Metro News 1.

You might be wondering why I didn't cancel my Netflix sooner. I also wonder that myself. I used to like Netflix when it first started as a DVD mail delivery service. But slowly, I began to hate Netflix and everything it stands for. I hate how Netflix put Blockbuster out of business. I hate the Netflix originals. Everything about Netflix goes against my ideals about movies and entertainment.

Too much emphasis is placed on novelty. Content is created in a rush to be consumed and then thrown away and forgotten as you move on to the next new crappy thing, then rinse and repeat. There’s no life, no soul, in its content. I hate the way Netflix is influencing how we consume entertainment.

Consume entertainment. I hate that word – consume. Entertainment is not meant to be consumed. It's meant to be enjoyed, relished and sipped like wine. We Americans consume our entertainment the way we consume our food. Filling hollow vessels without ever being fulfilled, without regard to taste, pleasure or enjoyment. By constantly churning out low-quality content, Netflix is the fast food equivalent to entertainment.

This is Netflix.

And for too long, I was a participant in that lifestyle as well, not truly enjoying entertainment but using it as a way to forget whatever realities I wanted to avoid. But no more – with Disney+, I can now can have entertainment that I actually like!

Disney focuses on quality even if it's slower. The studio itself has been almost a hundred years in the making. Each movie takes nearly a decade to make but it’s so worth it because you can re-watch and treasure it for many years to come.

These links sum up how I feel about Netflix: Her Campus⎮5 Reasons Netflix Sucks NY Post⎮Why Too Much Original Content from Netflix is Bad for Subscribers

My faith in Hollywood was being chipped away day by day with how Netflix is doing its business and the endless, mind-numbing superhero action movies released each year. But Disney is turning the tide. Disney is taking back Hollywood and saying “hey, quality entertainment matters!”

And boy, am I impressed with Disney+. The amount of choices is amazing!

Watchlist: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Cinderella Sleeping Beauty Peter Pan Alice in Wonderland Lady and the Tramp 101 Dalmations Aristocats Fantasia Mary Poppins The Little Mermaid Beauty and the Beast Aladdin The Lion King Pocahontas Mulan Fantasia 2000 Tangled Frozen Moana The Sound of Music Lizzie McGuire The Lizzie McGuire Movie Parent Trap Freaky Friday Princess Diaries Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Narnia: Prince Caspian The Simpsons Tuck Everlasting Home Alone

In addition I can’t wait to try the old Mickey shorts, Pooh series, old school live action movies like Old Yeller, National Geographic, 90s and 00s Disney Channel Series like The Suite Life of Zach and Cody and Wizards of Waverly Place (I’ve never watched them), Pixar favorites and so much more!!

But let me re-watch my favorites first. All this entertainment is enough to hold me over for a year, for eternity probably.

I had low expectations for the Disney streaming service at first, thanks to Netflix. I used to be jealous of people with huge collections of Disney DVDs (which were hard to come by because of this thing called the vault).

So jealous

I never thought I'd have that kind of access to all the Disney movies until I got Disney+. It’s like a dream come true! Disney has exceeded my expectations...again!

It's unreal, all my favorite movies in one place! It’s magical. Seriously, unless you're a Disney fan, you don't get how important it is to have all the Disney movies together! I’ve never been this spoiled. I’m being treated like royalty. This makes me so, so happy ❤

Now we have all this high-quality content. Disney is to entertainment as the Mediterranean diet is to food.

It’s like Christmas came early. It’s like being a kid in a candy store. Or being in a buffet with all your favorite food and you don't even know where to start. Can we say — best day ever!!!

Me when I'm trying to find something to watch on NetflixMe being amazed by all the choices on Disney+

These sum up how I feel about Disney+

Disney+ is amazing. The format is really nice, easy to use and not annoying like Netflix.

If you want to watch other stuff besides Disney, I highly recommend getting the Disney+ Hulu and ESPN bundle. For literally the same price as Netflix, you can have anything your heart desires from: - animated operatic symphonies to - Disney Channel series - favorite TV shows from the 90s and 00s (including How I Met Your Mother, of course!) - sports It's a world of difference from Netflix. A WORLD of difference. To have this much high quality content is truly blessed.

In short, Disney+ is a must-have for any Disney fan.

You know what would be perfect? A movie night in with Disney+ and some snacks: - prosciutto - nuts (pistachios perhaps) - cheese - wine or juice - fruit

Not mine but I wish

That's definitely not all. I could go on and on forever but I'll stop here before I convince you that I'm certifiably insane. Besides, I have a long list of Disney+ movies to get to.

Once there was a girl, who dreamed of going to the sea.

A lifelong relationship between a girl and the ocean, who is her friend.

For hers was an ocean of dreams, rife with danger and possibility.

“And when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails.” — Elizabeth Edwards

Just some Moana inspiration for you all.

Matching HIMYM characters with their Hogwarts houses

Ted Mosby Ravenclaw Ted is sooooo a Ravenclaw, geeking over his crossword puzzles, calligraphy set, Renaissance faire, “fun facts” on architecture, wearing fake spectacles to look smart, and pronouncing encyclopedia “encyclo – paeee – dia.“

Robin Scherbatsky Gryfinndor She's quite the independent spirit. I mean, she's wearing the Gryffindor colors right here. If that's not a coinkydink, I don't know what is.

Barney Stinson Slytherin

Lily Aldrin Slytherin

She might seem sweet but she's actually sly.

Marshall Erikson Hufflepuff If anyone's the most Hufflepuff, it's Marshall. Marshall is the most Hufflepuff who has ever Hufflepuffed. He's the most puff who has ever huffed. All the times he showed appreciation for food.

Tracy (the mother) Ravenclaw It's no surprise that Ted would marry a Ravenclaw. You know you're a Ravenclaw when you do quirky paintings of robots playing tennis.

Have a legendary day.

The Secret Garden Duh. The whole movie's about a garden.

Little Women This movie has all sorts to really get you into nature and cottagecore mode.

Gilmore Girls

Anne of Green Gables

There were other movies/shows but I just can't remember them right now.

Spring is such an underrated season and it's also my favorite.

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” – Anne of Green Gables

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Aprils.” – me

That is all.

Last time I did a list of my favorite movies, so I thought I'd do it again.

The Moderns Mamma Mia Twilight Super 8  Pride and Prejudice

The Vintage Singin' in the Rain The Sound of Music Meet Me in St. Louis

Some other movies (mostly, actually all, from the 90s)   The Secret Garden Titanic Forrest Gump My Girl Home Alone Jurassic Park

Disney classics Sleeping Beauty Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

It's pretty much the same list as last time except I left out most of the Disney movies so the list isn’t too cluttered.

I also added one important addition to the list and that is my new favorite movie, The Secret Garden. I watched it for the first time last year and it's such a wonderful movie. I'm obsessed with it. I was going to do a review on it but never had the time. Maybe later.

That is all.
