LHL Update

#knoydart #life

After a wet and windy period, we have moved into a North Easterly/Easterly airflow this week. It looks set to continue for a few more days yet. Whilst the dry days and sunshine (mostly) are a boon, the temp’s have dropped and we have some snow cover on the hills once again.

This colder weather has also coincided with our boiler having a hissy fit and needing some repairs. We replaced two 3Kw thermostats and a had better efficiency for two days, then the Temp/Pressure relief valve decided it couldn’t cope any longer and we had to shut down the system.

No heat and no hot water for the last 8 days..!

We had to boil water on the hob in a pan to wash up with, and just cold water for our person… I am looking forward to a decent shower.

Today we managed to get the valve fitted, system back on and powering up the tank. Enough water for washing etc. Hopefully by a day or two we’ll have enough to turn on the underfloor heating and radiators to rewarm the house. Just in time really for this cooler snap.
