Dem Senator Forced To Admit That He Secretly Met With Top Iranian Official Democrat Chris Murphy has been forced to admit that he secretly met with top Iranian officials during the Munich Security Conference last week. The Connecticut senator fessed up after a bombshell report by The Federalist revealed that he and several other Dems went behind President Trump's back to improperly negotiate with the leadership of the world's top purveyor of terrorism. Following the report, Secretary Of State Mike Pompeo had harsh comments for Murphy and the rogue Democrats. “I have seen that piece about some senators meeting with Foreign Minister Zarif. This guy is designated by the United States of America. He’s the foreign minister for a country that shot down a commercial airliner and has yet to turn over the black boxes. This is the foreign minister of a country that killed an American on December 27. And it’s the foreign minister of a country who is the largest world sponsor of terror and the world’s largest sponsor of anti-Semitism,” Pompeo said. “If they met, I don’t know what they said. I hope they were reinforcing America’s foreign policy and not their own." Initially, Murphy ignored the report but the unexpected scrutiny led him to admit the meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif which he defended despite increasing suspicion that the group was undermining Trump and official U.S. policy. Via The Washington Free Beacon, "Chris Murphy Admits He Secretly Met With Iranian Foreign Minister": Senator Chris Murphy (D., Conn.) admitted Tuesday that he secretly met with Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif at an international security conference. Murphy met with Zarif after criticizing the Trump administration's Middle East policy in a speech to the Munich Security Conference last week. Murphy remained silent when reports of the meeting emerged on Monday but acknowledged he met with top Iranian regime officials in a Medium post published Tuesday. "For years, I have met on occasion with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, during both the Obama and Trump Administrations," he wrote. "I have no delusions about Iran—they are our adversary, responsible for the killing of thousands of Americans and unacceptable levels of support for terrorist organizations throughout the Middle East. But I think it's dangerous to not talk to your enemies." Sen. Murphy who is a virulent critic of President Trump also sent out a series of tweets defending the meeting with a man who was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department last year and claimed that "Congress is a co-equal branch to the executive. We set foreign policy too." He also opined that Trump should be thankful for his treachery because his hardline stance to Iran "is just making Iran more powerful and menacing, and making America weaker and less secure." You have to give it Murphy, he has chutzpah. However, in yet another example of how hypocrisy is the coin of the realm with Dems, it was Murphy who demanded an investigation into General Michael Flynn who he accused of violating the Logan Act for speaking with Russia's ambassador during the transition. This is something that would seemingly also apply to him and his fellow traitors colluding with the Ayatollahs but don't ever expect to hear that perspective on CNN. It's bad enough when Democrats parrot talking points directly out of Tehran's ministry of propaganda as they did after Trump took out terrorist mastermind General Qassem Soleimani last month but quite another when they are stabbing the leader of the free world in the back while overseas. With the party now having dispensed with any pretenses of being even remotely acting in the best interests of America, it is pretty clear whose side they are on. Richards News OnLine
