TIMOTHY SKYMAKER

ㅤ Im Hyun-Tae (임현태, born 22 December) alternately known as Timothy Lim is an Korean-born filmmaker and entrepreneur. He is the son of industrialist Lim Nam-Geum of SJ Group and his lawyer wife, Arandita Lee. He has a twin sister named Im Hyun-Joo (Josephine Lim).
Lim graduated from the competitive Phillips Exeter Academy and undertook geochemistry degree from University of Boston. Under his chairmanship, the school’s film club flourished. They instigated the annual Boston Student Film Festival since 2019.
He is known for his wide array of activity and charity. As a student, he was a contributor for SIGMA Magazine and prizewinner of Lost in Fashion Writing Competition 2021 in Lisse, Netherlands. He is been known as a supporter of wildlife conservation body Hakuna Kikomo, while also represented his family's Light & Hope Foundation as a goodwill ambassador. For two years in a row, Unilaper has named him as ambassador for their detergent product Rinse Soo.
He reinterpreted the 1946 Akira Kurosawa political drama, No Regret for Our Youth, into a 2019 short flick's script. Lim finally made his debut as a director at Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival 2018 with his short movie, Kubilai. The project was received with mixed reception, especially with the local critics.
In 2021, he moved to Indonesia to shoot a documentary project. He met Adrian Sinclair, the CEO of MOVIECAPELLA with whom he collaborated on four movies. As a certified drone pilot, his films often feature mesmerizing trademark aerial shots.
His collaboration with MOVIECAPELLA earned him a traction of fame. With almost 5M subscriber on Yutub and 10M followers on Instagaram, he signed a deal as a content creator under Regine House in 2021. Lim created The Facts and Folktales podcast and hosted Sofa Crash talkshow on his Yutub channel.
Lim moved back to United States where he founded his advertising company, The Skymaking Project. Their notable clients include Patajonia and Unilaper. After helming a few superhero series, he took a vacuum from film industry to focus on developing his several businesses. In 2024, The Skymaking Project announced their production house, Skymaker Pictures. The company’s first film, Twilight (2024) will star Christine Steward and Sirius Lee Strange.
