Deciding to be useful

Yes, I'm here now. Before anything else I would like to say hi to Inquiry — thank you so much for seeing the good in me, always.

I just came back from a week-long surf trip in Calicoan island, a paradise where you can surf clean breaks at 6 am with less than five people in the lineup.

I had a great time — came home with a sunburnt nose, reef cuts on the soles of my feet, and a fresher outlook on life. Nothing like getting some sun and a splash of saltwater!

I'm now more ready than ever to go back to work, say hi to my friends, and wear this darker complexion.

On the write life:

Last month, I set long term goals on becoming a “more professional” writer and actually starting a freelance writing business (blogging, web content, ghostwriting, article writing, maybe copywriting). I've started building a website and figuring out my niche, brand identity, professional identity, selling points as a writer.

In line with this, I've decided to purchase a writing course and follow a “tried and tested” blueprint. I gotta put something into this — train myself and do actual work — and invest if I want something of out it, right?

What we get goes only as far as what we're willing to give.

What I'm expecting in the coming days and weeks:

I'm happy to say that the drama in my life has diminished to a significant degree. I guess that's the main consequence of deciding to be useful.

I gotta sleep now. I have about five hours. It's cold and dark in here.
