A place where I can untangle my mind, and set it free!

You fought the storm to get where you are, and now...you are STRONG enough to withstand ANY storm.

- Sandra Scala

Some people won’t understand. Some will even call you irrational. But you are YOU. And you have YOUR reasons.

I say this because I've been there. There were times when I've made decisions that I thought were best for me and my family – not for anybody else, because at the end of the day, my family comes first.

I've lost friends along the way, but sometimes, you have to let some people go. Sometimes, they cause more hurt in our lives than good, and it is not until you find the courage to finally stick up for yourself, and do what you feel is best for you and your family, that you finally feel peace within.

Here, I want to share this poem with you – one of my VERY first ones – it just came to my head as I pondered my life, and I let the pen do its thing...

SUCCESS

As you encounter a new phase in your life,

Make sure you take your time.

Know that what you are about to do,

Is what you want to do.

It has to be for yourself, and no one else.

You have to accept things in life,

Whether they are good or bad.

You have to accept yourself,

For who you are, and who you want to be.

Learn from your strengths and weaknesses.

Learn from the people who come and go.

Be strong through it all,

And take one day at a time.

Be proud of yourself when you've accomplished a goal.

A goal you've been working on for your life.

If you have a strong, kind heart through it all,

Then you’ve accomplished the greatest success in life.

You have become the strongest you could be.

You have become wise in the ways you know how.

And most importantly,

You have become the person you have wanted to be.

We need to remember – a storm will pass.

It may hurt going through it, but the sun is still shining.

Just give it time and patience.

And leave that storm behind. ❤️

This here is a picture of my hand locked with my daughter's, in wax. Our names are engraved, as well as the date it was done – December 31, 2017, a night never forgotten.

On my website, The Mind, Untangled.. there is an article that I just shared here on Coil before this article, and it was on the same night. I will not repeat myself, rather I hope you will take the time to click on this link – Every Little Bit Helps ... to read my story.

Sorry for the short article today, but my body needs some rest!

Every little bit helps ...

When you laugh so hard, you are like, seriously?! And in that moment everything is SO GREAT...

- Sandra Scala

Laughter is the key to healing.

Laughter helps to release inner pain.

It sure does feel great when you can laugh so hard it makes you cry, and you never want that moment to go away!

Even when you have a lot of things to get done in a day.

Even when you are in a situation that is heartbreaking or frustrating.

Know that the pain doesn't last forever...

Yes, we are faced with situations that make us feel anxious, sad, frustrated, or depressed. Maybe even all of the above. 😳

BUT, you CAN find that laugh....YOUR laugh.

And it can definitely shift your day for the better!

Remember – you can't take life too seriously.

Enjoy the time you do have – be grateful, be happy, be kind. Deep breaths, sing, dance, whatever it is to keep on going ...

Life is too short – try something new – get together with family or friends, have some fun with the kids, go on a trip – whatever it is – FIND YOUR LAUGH, because seriously, a GOOD laugh feels GREAT!! ❤️

Yes, we all have issues.

Yes, we all have challenges.

Don't be afraid of being different, be afraid of being the same as everyone else.

I want to share a video from when I spoke in Ottawa, at a Fearless Woman's Conference, where I remind people to show kindness and compassion.

https://youtu.be/1KdFrWSF728

We need to remember to offer support to those who are dealing with mental health issues and/or struggling with every day stresses.

We need to remember to offer support to those who are seeking kindness, love, and friendship. I believe that when a lot of people are feeling down or depressed, they tend to “hide”, and they become bitter. They don't want to feel like a burden. They don't want to bother anyone with their fears.

Fear will prevent you from doing the things you want to do in life.

Fear will prevent you from leading a happy life with the people you care about, and with the people who care about you.

Fear will put a dent in our lives because sometimes, we are just too. darn. scared. to step out of our comfort zone, and enjoy (and appreciate) all of the little things that we are surrounded by.

We cannot let our challenges define who we are.

We cannot fear the unknown.

We are who we are, and as long as we try to be a good person...

“That's what it's all about!”

All it takes is one person to listen – to recognize – to understand – that the person who is struggling, is just as **important**, **equal,** and **human**.

It can make a HUGE difference in someone else's life, when you reach out a lending hand and offer support.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

- Dr. Seuss

Don't surround yourself with the people who are envious of you. The people who are not supportive. The people who are always negative. You need positivity in order to achieve the goals you want in life, and trust me, you CAN do it!

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

- Reinhold Niebuhr

There are things in life that you simply cannot change.

You have to learn to accept it, and even if it's in your mind – learn to forgive the people who hurt you. Find the courage to let it go and to change the way it makes you feel. It was in the past, and it needs to be left in the past.

Find the wisdom to know the difference – the difference between the things you cannot change and the courage to change the things you can.

By letting it go, you are able to find the peace that you deserve. The peace to release all the anger and hurt inside. The peace that will help you to be that happy, kind, loving person, that you were once before. ❤️

If you find yourself troubled – here's a poem that I wrote – I hope it will help you find your way...

So strong, so pure, is who you are.

Be that person, even from afar.

Deep within, is the real you.

Please, stay away, from feeling blue.

You see, those feelings, will bring you down.

Pulling you, forcing you, only to drown.

It's the different emotions, which you feel.

But with hope and faith, He will help you heal.

For all that hurt, will indeed go away.

In time, with patience, it will be okay.

So wash away those tears that flow.

And let your true beauty start to show.

I also want to share a video with you, which I wrote and created – I called it “Emotions” :

One of my real frustrations with my vision change, is that if I put something in front of me, I can’t have it moved...not even a hand away (if you can envision that).

It’s one of the adjustments that my family works with.

I guess that’s why I look at life as being too short, and to take one day at a time!

One night, one of my girls became sad because she noticed the change in my vision, when I didn’t realize something was RIGHT THERE. I stopped what I was doing, and I took her in my arms.

We both cried. Together. For a good time.

I told her it was okay to cry, and to cry with me.

I told her that it’s good to let the emotions out.

And to talk about it, rather than keeping it all bottled in.

Here is a picture taken that night ...

I told her in a soothing voice, that even though it’s sad, my vision will only continue to worsen over time, and we just have to be strong. And to be there for each other. I’ve told this to all three of my girls.

Here is a poem I wrote for her (well, all three of my girls), that same night...

Just Hold On Tight:

Holding you tightly,

tears stream down our cheeks.

We’re trembling, and sobbing,

I try not to be weak.

I try so hard, try so hard.

What else can I do?

The fear that’s inside me,

is so real, so true.

So why, oh why is it?

One day, I shan’t see?

As the tunnel gets smaller,

I ask, “Why, oh why me??”

“I may appear strong.

I may appear wise.

I may laugh, I may sing.

But damn, they’re my eyes!”

And so this I say to you:

As we take each new day,

that is given to us.

With the bumps and the curves,

we will learn to adjust.

I will protect you and shield you,

in each, every way.

I will love you, oh love you,

each and every day.

With love, hope, and faith,

we will search for the light.

Always be with each other,

as we just hold on tight.

At the Fearless Woman's Conference I spoke at in August, I shared this poem .... I truly did not mean to bring tears to the audience's eyes – it's just that the night this happened – well, it was a special moment – a special memory with my daughter that I will always cherish. And it deserves to be shared to show the beauty behind life's struggles...even through the darkness.

On my wedding day, I asked my DJ if he could please play a song for me and my girls…It’s a song by Bruno Mars “Count on Me”. If you haven't heard it before, I encourage you to listen to it and pay attention to the lyrics – It's such a beautiful song...

https://youtu.be/Yc6T9iY9SOU

When this song came on, my girls and I just danced and hugged each other so tight, and it still tears me up to this day when thinking about it. The lyrics totally describe what I am for my girls!!!!

This picture is of us dancing to that song ...

I will always be there for my girls, whatever the challenge may be.

I will enjoy what I can TODAY, and just let them know I love them, every single day.

Even if we get upset sometimes.

Even when we laugh.

And even when we cry.

Life is life. And life is precious.

We need to grasp every minute of it!

It is Sunday, and it is going to be a busy day getting last minute things done before the week starts again with the hustling and bustling!

I want to share a quick note today because it is important that we follow this quote by Walt Disney – “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.

Quit talking about what excites you and what gives you reason, and just DO it!! Quit talking about what needs to get done, and begin doing it!! Most people will just keep putting things on the back burner saying “No, not yet, I'm not ready...” or “Right now is not the right time.”

When is the right time? How can you pursue your goals and your dreams if you don't “quit talking and begin doing”?!

The only way you are going to get to where you want to go is with persistence and determination.

Accomplish your goals.

Fulfill your dreams.

Live life. YOU CAN DO IT!!

Share this with someone who needs to hear this today! ❤️

“LIFE IS LIKE CHESS. Just because you didn’t make the right move the first time, doesn’t mean you give up. You still have a chance…you always have another chance.”

- Sandra Scala

The thing is, if we are always asking ourselves why this or why that happened (and to us) we tend to lose ourselves. We over-analyze and become paralyzed – there's the saying “over-analysis leads to paralysis”. If we are constantly thinking negative thoughts, we start to believe them, which leads us to believing that we don't deserve what life has to offer.
nobody Try to be and do the best you can
A Japanese Proverb I came across today – “”. Ah, when we are defeated, we learn so much, and try so much harder the next time.

And so I say – even if you are suffering in pain or loss, or facing a dilemma you aren't quite sure how to handle – don't give up – have hope. Let it be a learning experience, and try a different “move” the next time, until you get to where you want to be!

There is beauty in life, and there is always another chance...you just have to have patience and keep on moving forward! ❤️

Just like people, leaves change. They can break. They will fall. Yet, they are still beautiful.

- Sandra Scala

Anxiety has its way of making you think about all of the worst scenarios, making you feel insecure. Making you feel tired and overwhelmed. Making you feel like you are losing your mind.

Anxiety has its way of making you think that you are the bad one. Making you feel like you need to apologize for every little thing. Making you feel like you are just not good enough.

Anxiety has its way of making you think in ways that end up costing you a relationship, a friendship, a job, and most importantly, yourself.

But, even after all of the hurt and anger you are STILL standing, you are still managing. You've come this far in life, and although these emotions are powerful in your mind and you find yourself overthinking too much – you can STILL find trust, love, and happiness.

It may feel like you're breaking and falling, but you can find yourself and build yourself up again...don't hide your feelings from the people who care. Remember, healing takes time, patience, and POSITIVE people in your life.

YOU are still beautiful – even if you break, even if you fall.

YOU are still beautiful – even when you feel as though you can't handle anymore.

YOU are STILL beautiful.

And...you've got this! ❤️
