Frogs chirping at dusk Alternating with soft waves Drifting off to sleep
Pheasant scampering Across and out of the street Back into hiding
Tranquil morning sun Melts away a late spring frost But not in the shade
Ice pellets falling Cascading down a sloped roof Like an avalanche
Sudden rippling A watersnake darts away Across the surface
After two long weeks On that shore of paradise Gazing yearningly
