The Vox Day and Gab controversy
Vox Day claims that he was libeled on Gab, a claim that has not been established by any competent court.

These attacks on Vox Day did not come out of the ether. After the Charlottesville “Unite the Right” rally, Vox Day has been labeling anyone involved with that event, or anyone that supported that event, a “nazi”. This is despite the fact that out of thousands of rally-goers only one person who was unknown to anyone there turned up with a swastika.
Having been thus labeled, those users attacked Vox Day with the pedophile insult. Vox Day says that this is libelous, but it is not as I shall demonstrate. Calling someone a “pedophile” is a rather rare way of tossing insults, and to have three people in row do so means that there must have been some stimulus to get them to use that particular word and not the hundreds of other insulting words.

The Vox Day detractors knew of his advice to call others “pedophile” and this lead directly to that choice of words. Therefore it was insult, satire, and also at Vox Day's invitation that they used the word “pedophile”.
When Vox Day discovered what he claims is the libelous posts he first demanded that Silverdawn @GTKRWN remove, and followed with demanding that the other users remove their posts.

Vox Day then reported the alleged libel to Gab. What followed was numerous emails and phone calls between Vox Day, Andrew Torba, and Utsav Sanduja. Specifically Vox Day demanded that Gab break the law by illegally handing over the private identifying information of the users held by Gab that Vox Day claims libeled him.
Andrew Torba publicly responded to Vox Day, telling him that he had to get a court order from a competent court for Gab to provide personal identifying information. Vox Day, having been disabused of the notion that he would recieve special treatment and get Gab to break the law on his behalf proceeded to have some sort of mental breakdown. Instead of shutting up and simply getting the court order, he continued to direct absurd legal threats at Andrew Torba. He also attempted to impose a Terms of Service on Gab and in response Andrew Torba smacked Vox Day down in a series of posts.

Vox Day is misrepresenting these posts by Andrew Torba as attacks by Torba on Vox Day because Vox Day is supposedly intending to get a court order to serve on Gab. In fact Andrew Torbas posts directly address Vox Day's continual complaining about the situation, specifically Gab's refusal to remove the posts and provide user information.
As for the lawsuit itself, Vox Day has very little chance of winning. What he is doing is attempting legal intimidation. Even if the court refuses to hear the mitagating information about Vox Day advising people to “call them pedophiles”, damages awarded will be based on how much damage Vox Day has suffered, and he hasn't suffered any damages at all. Vox Day's professed paranoia about losing his children to government child protective agencies will not be considered by any court.
If there is any reputational damage at all, it is the fact that Vox Day has been revealed as a liar and a hypocrite. Who would have thought that the man that wrote SJWs Always Lie would be using it as an operational manual to attack his detractors?
