Note on using Tradovate in NinjaTrader:

Be very mindful of your trades. It can be glitchy at times because of the server-side nature of that setup. You might experience times where you cancel a working order in NT, and it remains in Tradovate.

ALWAYS have a window open, watching your accounts in the Tradovate dashboard (Just as you should have an RTraderPro window up to monitor your Rithmic accounts).

Monitor them using the accounts tab as shown here.

If you copy-trade to multiple accounts, set up a Tradovate account group with all your Tradovate accounts, make sure it is activated, and have a chart window in the Tradovate dashboard for the market you are trading. When you go flat in NT, ALWAYS do an “Exit at Mkt&Cxl” operation on the Tradovate chart to make sure you are flat in Tradovate and have all working orders cancelled in all accounts.

(NOTE: That button only applies to the chart on which you click it. So if you have working orders or open trades in multiple markets, clicking that button will exit and cancel everything on that market only.

(For example, if you have an active trade in both /RTY and /YM, and you click the “Exit at Mkt&Cxl” button on the /RTY chart, it will not affect anything on the /YM chart and any open trades and working orders will remain there. So keep this in mind if you are trading both a mini and micro market, and copying the orders from one to the other. Again, if you click “Exit at Mkt&Cxl” on the chart of the mini contract, it will not apply to the micro...you need to also pull up a micro chart and click that button there.)

Trade history and performance data

Also of note, if you are using an 8.0.x.x version of NinjaTrader, you won't have any trade history for your Tradovate accounts in NinjaTrader. You have to view that in the Tradovate dashboard under the Performance Center tab, or by generating a report.

If you are using 8.1.x.x, Tradovate accounts should show in NT Trade Performance, but they may not reflect any commission template you have applied, and may also reflect a different time zone.
