There are no new shades of pressed powder. Despite what Younique will tell you.
Here's what happened:
Younique decided to relaunch their pressed powder because the colours didn't match their liquid foundation.
The head of research and development was fired for misconduct. In the wake of his leaving, the product owner for face products realized that the new pressed powders still didn't match the liquid foundation.
In fact, they were orange.
And like two shades too dark.
Instead of scrapping the launch of the new pressed powders, or spinning them as “summer” colors, Younique decided to just pretend the new shades are “line extensions.” They not only don't match the shades of liquid foundation, now they don't even work for people who don't live at the Jersey Shore.
There was no benefit to buying the new pressed powders. In fact, there's less product than before. But hey, it's more portable. 🙄
Just about all their products contain talc. And no sunscreen. Except for the sunscreen powder that's being launched next year — as a separate powder to put on top of the powder.
I talked to a current employee who said that the launch of the powder has been an unmitigated disaster. The fallout's been pretty extreme because the company lied to its Black Status Presenters, and they know it. Tiny bit of an embarrassment.
