Just an ordinary economist who loves leatherworking, photography and video. Love cooking. Eating I love even more. I travel. I drink as well

As a member of XRP community I was thinking about adding content to Coil but didnt know in which niche to give my contribution.

So Ive decided it to be about photo (and video). Im not full time pro, I do maybe 250-300 payed hours per year of video and photo shoot, in the end, I find myself enthusiast, I have my small strapmaking business and passive income from investing and family owned things so camera is my hobby as a fact.

Here I’d try to talk about photography for people who want to achive the most by not investing much. Because you dont have to be a pro with expensive new equipement to make good photos.

This is just an introduction article and I will not talk about the techniques and equipement but will try to encourage you to go out and shoot.

Photo is just the light cought by the camera sensor, but as well it is the final thing you present to a viewer. And with a slight edit, a plain everyday photo can become something more.

The example I will present is the photo you’ve noticed in the header of this article. It was shot last summer during my trip to Egypt. Imagine a hot summer day, over 40 Celsius, after a long tour arround Luxor... I came to my last point I have planed to visit, Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, world known sight near the Valley of the Kings. No DSLR camera in hands, only iPhone, and then ive had this sight in front of me. Leading lines of the steps of the temple with a single visitor coming down torwards me, a scene which I simply had to freeze. I’ve taken my phone, cleaned the lense (always clean mobile phone lense before taking pics as it is usually not clean!) framed the scene and clicked...

...and I got this

Aha, here we are. Nothing special compared to the final photo which is presented. True, but the composition is here and it was (always is) the base from which you can make something more attractive.

With just few touches in Adobe Lightroom, the free version of the mobile app, Ive come to this...

The photo which gave me much praise from pros and amateurs.

And you can do it as well. Just observe and shoot and enjoy your hobby. You can make great photos as well, just learn and enjoy.

In next articles I plan to cover techniques, equipement, light... and ofcourse Id like to hear what you would want to be covered.

Thanks for reading,
