in-progress meta-notes about conversations and/or following conversations in progress...

What is undertaken in the conversation (with another, with oneself, with the very pursuit of conversation) is the ever-renewed relationship of speech to the infinity of meaning that shapes its truth.

Maurice Blanchot by Jean-Luc Nancy

i've been thinking for a long time about the notes that are elicited by conversations with people that i am working with, with whom i am engaged in a process or practice (or praxis) which i might call, with some trepidation because i don't want this to sound grandiose or fanciful, in the work.

sometimes i write someone a letter, but often i can't make what i want to say or write into a coherent finished text or text object — and so the person never gets to see these notes, never receives the letter or email.

would there be a way to enable people to read these notes or letters, even people to whom they are not addressed?

there are some of those post conversation notes. it is a sort of fledgling online notebook for work-in-progress, about my thinking and writing following such conversations.

this is not properly edited or finished writing (but of course, like mourning, writing is never 'finished'). these notes will evolve over time and space (and allah) permitting but if you want to read what i wrote (if anything) following a session, you can do so here. i am careful to avoid names and too specific details about your personal situation so other people too can read these notes without being able to identify you but if you find that i have made a specific reference to you which you don't want to be there just let me know asap.

not that there is much there yet but almost everyone is welcome to read (and respond to) any of the notes inspired by the conversations.

it is even possible to download everything here as an ebook in .epub format by adding .epub to the URL of the blog. for example : https://write.as/conversations/.epub

to download all the posts with a particular #tag as an ebook, use : https://write.as/converations/tag:sometag.epub, substituting 'sometag' in the url with the relevant tag.
