Husband, Father and Investor. Been in Crypto since 2017.
I blog about everything and everybody that is crypto; Twitter: @xrptwin

Today, I had a Final Rehearsal, but it also was the first rehearsal. I am talking about running, no no, walking a marathon.

I got up early this morning, baked something something, I will report later, Tuesday or something and went outside as my “date” was picking me up. We had the plan to go for “a 20 kilometres / 12 miles walk” as a final test, specially for them as they have been training for a couple weeks now .....

We would walk with the four of us, no handshaking, touching or come close as we are still in a virus situation. We all are virus free, but still ..... you never know ! ! !

It was good weather what probably is the most important ingredient we do not control but can make or break the walk, whether a success or a failure.

The group of four is very different, a lot of similarities but also differences; makes it interesting as we alternate “talking buddies” every now and then. We had fun, different talks, and NO, there is no singing involved.

One of the four is very interested in Crypto, has not been involved in it but wants to know more about it ..... Well buddy, next Thursday we have a couple hours to talk about it ..... We passed nice sceneries, a couple impressions:

After 13 kilometres, we met with our partners and had some lunch, was really nice and safety was the most important.

After a little break of like 20 minutes, we decided to walk back also, well, 3 out of 4 were. We took a different route and ran into the following bridge with amazing drawings:

Somebody really did a great job ! ! !

Well, when I got home, 20 Kilometres (little under 13 miles) had been walked, about half of the distance, I felt positive and told people I would be there on Thursday. So next Thursday it is on ! ! !

Looking forward to it, will be tough, but a lot of fun. It will take about 8 / 9 hours, so a long day. NOT an official Marathon, just set up by a couple people ! ! !

We all managed to make this work and we are going to have fun AND I will be explaining somebody, Crypto Currency is MORE than only Bitcoin

STAY SAFE ! ! !

Tomorrow is going to be my test day ..... I will explain this later, but it is going to be fun ..... I think ...... I hope ! ! !

Last year in November, I spoke with a friend of mine and she wanted to run a marathon in 2020 .... Thought I was done with that, but people can trigger me, I am competitive, so I kinda put myself in THAT situation again .....

What eh ..... shall I join ....? ? ?

YES, that would be awesome, let's train for it, that is cool ! ! !

Let me share I have done 2 marathons in my life, why ? ? ? Well, most important .... checking the bucket list CHECK. I always said I would do it and I did it ..... twice. First one was just the checking part and the second one was for a good cause – Cystic Fibrosis, may have to write about that some other time.

Source

So, getting fired up, getting some kind of training schedule on paper and we managed like three trainings together. We ran about 10 kilometres, 6 miles per training three times and then we just had difficulties finding the right time to run together .... she is married, has a three year old and a busy life. I KNOW I am busy, have a five year old, and planning to run together, difficult ! ! !

In January we ran together once more and spoke about what marathon we were going to run. It was the one in Nice, France. Well, we all know where that went in 2020 ............. not to Nice in France ! ! !

So, that was the end of our marathon plans .......... or not ? ? ?

Well, not for her ..... she was planning to walk 42 kilometres (26 miles), and of course I am NOT talking about just walking ..... speed walking. She practised a lot with a mutual friend and she is getting ready for it.

I ran into her earlier this week and we were just chitchatting a little when she shared with me that next week is going to be THE week.

What do you mean ? ? ?

Well, we are going to Amsterdam by train and we will walk back to a point we agreed on ...... 42 kilometres ! ! !

Well, that sounds fun, tell me about it?

Well, half way our partners will have food and we are going the distance. I am faster, we know how to walk and we are going for it. It is alternative, no official marathon, just 4 people going from point A to point B that is 42 Kilometres, and a bit, I know, away from point A ! ! !

So are you ready for it, did you train a lot ? ? ?

Source

Oh yes, ready for it, this weekend, 15 kilometres (9 miles), last practise and that is going to be it ......

Well, WHAT if I do the 15 with you and if it feels okay, why do I not join you guys on this adventure ? ? ?

No problem, let's do it, you know you want to Twin ! ! !

I definitely want to but ...... THERE IS NO BUT, yes the one you will follow next Thursday, YOU NEED TO DO IT ...... DO IT ! ! !

So, this weekend I am going to have a try-out, 15 kilometres and if it feels right, it is going to be right. And don't get me wrong, I am doing my fair share of walking / running at the moment. Whether it is running / walking the stairs (thank you Gord) or just distance, I am not a total starter.

Source

We will see how it goes, will let you know Sunday ....

I asked her to give an honest assessment of whether she thinks I can do it, keep it up, to walk the whole distance. Of course I can get out at half point, but, well, hmmm, .............. , that's another thing! ! !

Keep you posted

STAY SAFE ....... Me too ! ! !

Today, a new recipe to put on the table. Not sure if it is totally healthy, but sometimes you also have to just enjoy your diner, without thinking what is inside, calorie wise; even if you have a challenge going on.

Hutspot, the English translation is Stew, but I do not agree with this:

A stew is a combination of solid food ingredients that have been cooked in liquid and served in the resultant gravy. Ingredients in a stew can include any combination of vegetables and may include meat, especially tougher meats suitable for slow-cooking, such as beef, poultry, sausages, and seafood

Source

Well, ............ I guess I can agree a little bit, the process is in some degrees the same, but a picture of Stew does NOT look like Hutspot.

Hutspot sounds like hodgepodge, a heterogeneous mixture, that is what it is.

So what is needed,

2 pounds of Potatoes

2 pounds of Carrot and Onion

1 Sausage (Optional)

To make it easy for the dish, I have already peeled the potatoes and the carrots have already been washed and chopped. Cut the onions into small pieces and put all this in a pan with water (ehhh, don't you do that with stew also .....)! ! !

First I put a little bit of carrot and onion and the potatoes in a pan, following the rest of the carrots and onions ! ! !

You boil this and then let it boil for 20 minutes. If you want the potatoes and carrots a little harder, do 18 minutes and really REALLY soft ..... 22 minutes.

Drain the whole thing and let the last water drip out. The remaining potatoes, carrot and onion are cooked completely dry.

You add some milk, a little bit and then start to mash it all. Add a little pepper and salt, maybe some nutmeg, this for the enthusiast, and let it cool down nicely. When serving, heat it up a little and enjoy.

Besides the “hutspot” you might want to serve a little bit of meat, if you eat meat —–) little bit of sausage fits the dish, just bake it for a while and if you like a little bite, keep it in there for a bit .....

Starting ....

In the pan, getting a tan ! ! !

Looking nice Twin ! ! !

This is what you are serving:

Is that not a happy table.

It is all in the presentation ! ! !

Look at that happy plate above ...... E M P T Y ! ! !

Enjoy it, if you create it ....... and:

STAY SAFE ! ! !

Sometimes a blog just opens up a window that allows another blog to be written. Last week, I was triggered by a Marmite shopper to write a blog about Vegemite and its “Angstgegner” (feared opponent) MARMITE ! ! !

Myself, I wrote it before, am a Marmite eater and have been interested in the battle throughout the years. Obviously the tweet accompanied by the Coil Link got some reactions:

And Matt, met him couple times, great guy, comes up with the “Nutella spread”, definitely want to see that also, and then it happened:

WHAT ! ! !

Indeed Trevor, THE BIG GUNS ARRIVED ! ! !

I was happy for Patty, she received an answer by Marmite; now she has a little challenge going on; no no, I am not putting the pressure on ya, L O L ! ! !

But then I saw Marmites reaction to the Blog, that was absolutely legendary, who doesn't love this “dancer” , definitely made me smile big time:

https://youtu.be/VudmKndTU7Q

Source

Did not think, this would happen writing a blog about something I really like ! ! !

Well, Kass was next .... followed by Lego:

So, I hope I can get the help of Cinnamon, Coil, Marmite and all the before mentioned bloggers. I would like to propose a challenge: Everybody should try Marmite and show this in a video and post it on Cinnamon. I would love Marmite to sponsor this Challenge with their product in small packages, like this:

Source

Maybe I can help with sending out the products to all the different people, to make it easier for Marmite, or if Marmite wants to do that, that would be amazing; maybe not all the Bloggers want to share their address with me ! ! !

I just get fired up by things like this: especially in times when people need fun more than ever ! ! !

Would love Marmite to declare the winner. I am not sure what the winner looks like, but I guess, the best video wins, and Marmite can decide what wins and what doesn't win ! ! !

So, I hope everybody replies on this Blog, let's see what happens.

Please reply to this Tweet:

Looking forward to what the next step is going to bring.

The most important though:

Gord, you still with me, still going for it ..... ? ? ? I am still trying my best, still trying to make some kilometers to get the weight down.

Let me first start with the challenge I got from Gord, last week:

Well, told Gord before, I like Push-ups and have done them before. This challenge was done on Tuesday as I did the following:

Monday:

5 series of 20 a piece

Tuesday:

5 series of 20 a piece

In the morning before showering 20 push-ups, after showering, ..... 20 pushups. Sometime during lunch 20 push-ups, and 20 push-ups some time while watching television/ streams and the last one right before bed. 100 a day, no problem.

Source

This setup I have done for 2 days, besides the other Push-up challenge we currently have:

This “little challenge” started on the first of November, as you can see above, and ads 1 push-up per day. If you would have joined this challenge, today you would have done 280 push-ups already. This means ..... you have done a little over 10% of the challenge (11.47%); understanding the lion part is at the end. To give you a heads up, in the last 10 days, you have to do almost 27% of the whole challenge; makes you wonder ! ! !

I have done my push-ups, but the question is: Gord, have you done them ...... did you already do your 25 push-ups today .......? ? ?

It is of course not only challenging each other. Yes, it is fun and it pushes when you are trying to loose weight with somebody else, but you have to have the right attitude yourself. I had a couple days this week, I had a tough time. Friday evening for example; I was offered a nice meal ..... with French Fries and yes, I accepted.

As some of you know I help a restaurant delivering meals; it helps them out, I don't ask money and the real important people can do what they are good at .... Cooking ! ! ! If I am not driving the meals, one of the cooks has to drive and that is NOT ideal. I just like to do it. I am on the road listening to wrong music ..... will blog about that later ..... It is fun to offer people food , with a mask and from a distance; team work, cooking, packing, driving, everybody has their own task and it works fine. 2 hours/ 3 hours on Friday/ Saturday and / or Sunday .... whenever he needs me.

And that is where it went wrong. The owner really wanted to thank me and had cooked my family a nice meal. As he knows I would not accept, he cooked it and it was done when I came back from my last delivery. Carpaccio, a nice piece of meat and ...... fries ..... So, stairs, see you later this weekend, will do some flights again ! ! !

So, there were some results ....... BUT , you have to be a subscriber if you want to see them. Yes, I ask you to join Coil, to see the results and the new Challenge I have for Gord. If you are interested, click here and learn all about the great perks you get.

STAY SAFE ! ! !

Yesterday was an important day for all the Dutch children, as Sinterklaas “arrived” in the Netherlands again. This “arrival” used to be a major event, but that ...... is something that is NOT possible this year.

A little bit of history

Let's check out Wikipedia:

Sinterklaas is based on the historical figure of Saint Nicholas (270–343), a Greek bishop of Myra in present-day Turkey. He is depicted as an elderly, stately and serious man with white hair and a long, full beard. He wears a long red cape or chasuble over a traditional white bishop's alb and a sometimes-red stole, dons a red mitre and ruby ring, and holds a gold-coloured crosier, a long ceremonial shepherd's staff with a fancy curled top.

Sinterklaas carries a big, red book which records whether each child has been good or naughty in the past year.

Source

Source

As a little child, I was always told, he was related to Father Christmas. It is a very exciting moment and starts our festivities in the Netherlands. On the first Saturday AFTER November 11, Sinterklaas always arrives from Spain by boat. He comes to the Netherlands to give all the children presents on the 5th of December, helped by a lot of men called Pete (Piet), who climb all the roofs and throw the presents through the chimney.

Two weeks before Sinterklaas makes his journey by boat, television broadcasts a special daily Sinterklaas program describing the whole journey. It is at six o'clock, children watch it and afterwards, the program is like 5 to 10 minutes, go to bed; same is for Noah ! ! ! There are always problems, no more coals to travel by boat, the presents are lost, Sinterklaas is sick, always something that endangers Sinterklaas coming to the Netherlands.

It is a big (commercial) thing to host the arrival of Sinterklaas to the Netherlands. Cities bid on it and it is a victory when YOUR city wins ..... at least, it used to be. 10.000s of people traveling to your city, television broadcasting your city, a big thing:

Source

All the people coming to your town, all the little vendors in the street selling, food, candy, drinks.

This commercial aspect, ..... not important to children, they just want to wave to Sinterklaas and tell him they have been good children, in order to receive some presents ! ! !

Source

The picture above, ........not a chance this year. Corona has “killed” this idea and well, ...... yesterday was a whole different arrival:

Source

Source

Source

This was shot yesterday when the good old man, nobody knows his age, took the big trip from Madrid, Spain again.... In the last week, during the daily program they were speculating where Sinterklaas would arrive exactly and the program makers came up with a smart solution .... they came up with a fake city name and that was where the boat harboured. No children to welcome him, to sing for him so yes, he was a little sad.

At least the holy man is in the country again and can get ready to share his presents on the fifth of December.

Before the fifth there is another tradition .... Putting your shoe next to the chimney / door / window. In my family you were allowed to put your shoe next to the chimney. Inside you would put your list with the presents you would like to receive and a little bit of water and a carrot for the horse, that had to climb all these roofs. All the Pete's would collect the lists and get ready for the fifth of December.

Well, by tradition, when Sinterklaas was in the Netherlands, we would be allowed to put our shoes besides the chimney ..... Noah as well:

A little letter for Sinterklaas with his shoes, as he thought 1 was not enough :–)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO:

Six o'clock this morning Noah wanted to go downstairs to check his shoe and lo and behold:

He was so happy, Sinterklaas and Pete had made it to his house. Sinterklaas thought he was a sweet little boy this year and he received a little present, exciting times to the 5th of December

Not sure if you are aware of the battle between Marmite and Vegemite, but it is a very well known competition, you like one, not the other, or you like the other and not one ! ! !

Just a little Google search:

Source

Tells you what they are, and what the differences are. Myself, I am a MARMITE MAN Love the taste of it and it went from little bit to ......... more ! ! !

I must have been six or seven years old, when my dad brought us home a giant jar of Marmite. First of all, they did not sell these in the Netherlands that size, second of all, my dad wanted to bring something totally different ..... that's how I remember the story ! ! !

Source

It started with a little bit of Marmite on my cheese sandwich. Just a slice of bread, cheese on it and carefully with a knife a little bit of the black salvation smeared on the cheese. Yes, it is an acquired taste, but when you like it, YOU LOVE IT. On the other hand, if you do NOT like it, there probably is no Marmite future for you....

I found out I REALLY like it, because the moment arrived where I did not put the marmite on top of the cheese anymore, no I used as a butter kind of spread, where I would cover the sandwich with the dark delight and just enjoyed it ....... and oh, you don't need cheese anymore ! ! !

Well, I was introduced to Marmite before I was introduced to the Australian homemade product Vegemite. That probably crushed the competition for me as the door just never opened to it. Marmite was my safe haven ! ! !

Every time somebody in the family would go to the UK, we would bring back a jar and well it was needed, because I was not the only one in the family enjoying it. You are able to buy it in the Netherlands, but not in our family, at least back then, we kept it special by only buying it in the UK; our thing.

Many years I did not really hear about it, but the battle was still going on ! ! !

Why this story, well I was at the grocery store today and this was the image in front of me:

The man in front of me just had 1 product, a jar of Marmite. I had to laugh and asked him about it. He told me he had been in a fight with his brother for years and finally buried the hatchet. They would have diner that night and he wanted to share some toast with him with Marmite before ...... That is nice. I told him ..... Well, it is going to be tricky the man said, because my brother is a Vegemite person ! ! ! ! I could hide my smile, as I knew exactly what he was talking about and without asking him more I wished him good luck and a healthy family relationship ...... oh boy I hope that is not going to leave a scar ! ! !

Marmite, I tell you , it is an acquired taste, just look at the following video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_BxxyhPFNs

For me the winner is MARMITE ! ! !

I will tell you, it is a big time competition between the two ! ! ! I have to highlight one moment in time during the Ashes last in 2019. Maybe you are not familiar with this tournament, but it is cricket between England vs. Australia – Marmite vs. Vegemite. Tensions were high and Marmite gave FREE jars away during the Ashes in Birmingham. Vegemite did not like it, so they ran an ad in the UK newspaper the Daily Mirror, watch the Tweet send out:

Source

The battle was on ! ! !

This was of course NOT the end of it , so one day later, this ad was displayed in the UK newspaper the Daily Mirror, watch the Tweet send out:

Source

This was a reference back to the Australian cricket team scandal when they were caught sanding the cricket balls for better controlling the spin during a game agains South Africa ! ! !

That was a W for Marmite , Vegemite did not answer that with another ad. If you look at Twitter Followers:

Source

I guess that is 2-0 for Marmite. Well, me liking it over Vegemite, three strikes and you are OUT ! ! !

Congrats Marmite, you won the battle

STAY SAFE ! ! !

Don't ask me, I'm a ball. Would love to ask the ball, is this year going to end well, but it doesn't work like that. You just cannot ask a magic 8 ball how it works.....

I am going to take a little break from Internet .... Well the part that is called Social Media, in specific Twitter. At the moment it is not boosting my personal happiness ! ! !

I remember the days ..... wow like we are over 60 ! ! ! Back in 2018, yes only 2 years ago, we had something called the XRP TipBot. A tool created by Wietse Wind, it worked marvellous. People tipped each other for being active .... active in writing content, sharing content, updating one another, it was magical. 20 messages in a row with XRP as hashtag, or XRPCommunity and it would at least have 1 XRP Tip. Even tipping people just 0.01 XRP, you can do the math, was something you saw. I call it the Hodor times, when he was still around, writing amazing blogs, educating us on the different blockchain topics regarding XRP.

I used to send like 150 tips at the same time, with the same amount: ,0123 XRP:

Yes, I got a lot of reactions, that I was a cheap a**, but also a lot of people that just thought it was a nice gesture. It was just fun, it was done and loved doing it.

Well, we all know what happened to the XRP Tipbot, it moved away, thanks Uphold, amazing incorporating it, but it is not visible anymore like it used to be ! ! ! Yes, tips are still given but no, the heart of it is gone. We move on I know. It has been something I am truly happy about, I was part of, as it was something done out of the heart. People donated for content you wrote or found. It was fun. The reactions, it may be only worth 20 dollar cents, but you just gave away 12.000 dollar (numbers are made up), WAS FUN.

If you read Twitter, Telegram, it is, a word used a lot, toxic. People look at individual coins, talking bad about other coins, what are the different use cases, teams behind it, motivations doing particular stuff...... We have to do it together. Yes, not every project is going to make it, but that is also in daily life.... not every started business is going to make it. Bad management, competition, no need for such a project, many reasons, but that is fine. If it is not intended to have people loose money over it, go for it, amazing you put your brains in a project and shoot for the moon.

2020 as a whole does not help of course. The Virus still spreading, in many countries the second wave ..... economic turbulence, political battles, it is just adding all up....

Purely coincidence that I am writing this today, but it is Friday the 13th, well, I don't hold anything agains this combination, day and number, but it, at least, deserves a paragraph.

Just a little down what happens now. Fights, bickering, quarrels, at every level. Let's try to communicate and work things out. I know my blog won't do anything, but if it helps one person to be more positive, just for the sake of it ....... it would be great. As long as you have your breath, you should smile. My motivation is down, but will be back up again. Much love

STAY SAFE ! ! !
