I know, I know ....... Wordless Wednesday, but for once, I am going to break with the tradition.
I have too many lady interviews and today is going to be a big one.
A whole Community is waiting for it and it is NOT the XRPCommunity. Transparency is key and this lady shows it. Very pleased she took the time, to sit down for this interview as it may have not been the best timing to ask for this interview:
This lady is super busy
Well, it probably is never a good time, but she took the time and I am super SUPER happy**
I am talking about Adel De Meyer
**First something about her name:
De Meyer, DeMeyer, De Meijer or De Meijere is a Dutch occupational surname related to English Mayor. It is particularly common in Flanders. That makes me feel closer to this interview, the Dutch part that is ! ! !

This blog actually started in July, on the 25th to be precise, when I started a pole; finding out what digital asset has the biggest community, visible community, ......... outspoken community is probably the word I am looking for. XRP won this race easily, but there were a lot of reaction from the DAPS Community, so I had to give a shout-out to this community as it was not a choice to be picked.
So, I wanted to know more about this Project and if you want to learn aim high .... Asked a couple community members some questions and ended up asking Adel for an interview and she was positive from the start, making it clear though, she is a busy lady. Well it all found its way into the special I launched last week
so DAPS Project it is .....

I did my research and yes the word company should not be used, but it puts the emphasis on the word project a little more, NOT A COMPANY ! ! !
So, without further ado:
XRPTwin:
Can you tell us about yourself ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
Entrepreneur, Startup Advisor, Speaker and Leader of DAPS Coin.
I come from a long marketing and PR background and have been recognised for 3 years in a row as a top 100 global marketing influencer. I’m a contributor on TNW and HackerNoon and have been recognised twice as a trendsetter in the NFT and Dapps industry.
I am leading DAPS Coin fighting for our right to privacy
With this aiming to achieve a top 50 coin status for the project.
XRPTwin:
You have a long marketing and PR background how has this helped you in your current role as Co-founder and leader at the DAPS Project ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
I was a New Media Specialist and still today an author, advisor, speaker and globally recognised for my contributions to the marketing and tech industry. In just 3 years’ time, I have built my brand so well using Social Media and sharing my expertise that I got published in top publications and have worked with some amazing brands to date. I worked with global brands like Adobe, Huawei, Pitney Bowes, Hootsuite, Marriott, Enjin, Akoin, SAP and Yelp.
This business experience helped me tremendously in making decisions, leading a community and building a team. Understanding users digital journeys, how they think and what the demand is in society and different countries in the world. Having built my own business and brand was the best thing I could ever do, not just for personal development but also for my current project, DAPS Coin.

We do have to have a question about the Monero's and ZCash's of this world. Let's take Monero: classified as a privacy coin due to its untraceable, unlink-able, private, and analysis resistant transactions. The DAPS protocol claims to be able to help coins like Monero and ZCash as they are not AS PRIVATE as they claim to be! Can you share how ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
In terms of ZCash, because they have public and private transactions a user who uses both will have certain characteristics that metadata can potentially used against them.
Source
In terms of Monero, it's not as much about the privacy of the coin as it is the ability to integrate. Monero does not conform to the BIP-39 standard. This means that every integration must be unique and it is a real pain to do. Whereas DAPS is always private and conforms to the BIP-39 standard and therefore has a very integration ability with 3rd parties.

I read your article: 5 blockchain trends influencing the future of social media marketing ... Is social media blockchain's friend or fiend? IS social media ready for the beast called crypto currency and its industry ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
Crypto can’t survive without social media.

XRPTwin:
Earlier this year I read an article the Daps believes their protocol can become the standard. What will make this happen, becoming the standard ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
Our belief stems from the fact that we managed to do what many thought was impossible. We have a hybrid chain with 3 separate proof types and 2 of them work in conjunction with each other and place blocks on the same chain. While this may in itself not be novel, the fact that we have done that in a full privacy coin and still have deterministic nodes means that we have created a new – some say better – way.
Standards are funny things, it requires peer review and consensus. We believe we can be seen as the standard, whether the industry agrees is another question.

XRPTwin:
Can you say something about the partnership with SecuX ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
This partnership breaks new ground for both SecuX and DAPS by offering a best-in-breed privacy coin to the SecuX ecosystem. SecuX has the potential of emerging crypto payment technologies and explores more business potential through a simple blockchain technology with an affordable cost.
Source
Working with the SecuX team for the past 5 months has been a breeze and both learn from each other which is great. SecuX is also a startup that achieved a lot for their business to date including winning tech awards. With this integration it will soon be easy for anyone around the world to pay and accept DAPS with their Point of Sale solutions.
This hardware integration officially launching the end of September is only the beginning for this partnership.
XRPTwin:
Well, good timing I would say ! ! !

You also have a collaboration with the Gaming Industry .... you launched Enjin Multiverse Collectibles. Can you say something about this ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
Yes this is correct. Our first blockchain game integration is already live! You can play with your unique DAPS characters on Bitcoin Hodler.
The one game we are really keen on launching as well is Age of Rust. DAPS characters will feature in their own story section of the game. Make sure you have your DAPS NFT’s to unlock this special section in games.

You are probably a very busy person, but what do you do if you are not working, what do you do to relax ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
Travel – Lots of exploring every chance that I get. I enjoy random road trips too, nothing as nice as a good drive to clear your head.
Lifestyle – Interests include, interior design, graphic design, fashion, reality tv, blockchain and Playstation gaming.
Family and my dog – I have a soft spot for both, so they get most of my attention when I can get away from work.

XRPTwin:
We know that Monero has implemented a fixed ring size for each transaction (currently 11 to the best of my knowledge) while DAPS randomly generates ring sizes (variable ring size) (between 11 and 15 to the best of my knowledge). What advantage does this give you against them ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
That's correct, Monero has a fixed size of 11 where we have a random size from 12 to 15. What this means is that by default our lowest ring size is already higher than Monero and because of the complete randomness of the decoy selection, no user habits can be ascertained.
Now a lot of people will say that a static Ring size is better. I disagree. While omni-ring is the golden trophy – that no one has gotten yet – having a static ring size, to me, means that once an intruder has learnt how to read the metadata of a static ring size transaction, that same formula can apply to any transaction.
Whereas the application of that formula to a variable ring size may not necessarily be accurate given that 1 transaction will have a different ring size to others.
They may be able to glean some data of off all the 12 sizes, but not the 13's possibly.

What is the legal status of DAPS, Private Company, an LTCD, or ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
DAPS is not a company, it is an open-source decentralised community driven project. Soon DAPS will have a registered foundation.
Source
XRPTwin:
What percentage of the coins is in the hands of the “foundation to be”; this of course may sound a little so not private, but could you share something, ballpark figure ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
The total dev fund is only about 2 billion DAPS coins at the moment which is about 3% of the supply.

XRPTwin:
Will you share what happened when PCN was headed by Breck Nevers. A lot of FUD spreads around, can / would you like to share some light in this darkness ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
When the leader then, Breck Nevers, announced and gave up on a swap from PCN to DAPS coin, I said well, I don’t know what you guys want to do, but you need to fix this mess and let’s just get it going.
I took charge of everything as it all went up in flames
even though I was really confused about the reaction and decisions that were made, I stayed. I later discovered that his entire plan was a scam, and there was no way I was going to let him get away with it.
I bought on consultants to figure out how to deal with the swap and advise us on what we could do for the community that had already invested in this product idea. We created DAPS token and communicated to the public about how we were going to move forward.
We started to develop the DAPS blockchain full-time from August of 2018. Fortunately, I had people that helped with some cash injections and the community offered some support to pay the developers. I got to reworking the business plan, the strategy, the team and the community. It was just “this is my task” now and I’m going to deliver on this goal and this vision we had.
Almost three years now since we started and wow, what a journey. I’m very proud of the accomplishments so far
and the support from our amazing community and team

What is the future of DAPS regarding exchange regulations and Privacy Coins? How close are you working with governments/ official regulation bodies ? ? ?
Adel De Meyer:
I think we’re at a stage where governments realise if they ban privacy coins, people will still find a way to trade it, and then it will just go back underground. I think it’s more of “a rock and a hard place” right now.
The biggest challenge for us (privacy coins) will be the centralised exchanges. I mean, that’s really where governments can cut it off. But again, people are just going to get into exchanges that are not registered, maybe not centralised or big, but you don’t need to be listed on OKEx or Binance to reach $50 or $100 million market cap. We’ve seen that before.
Source
If you think about it from another angle, authorities can have the required information and access to your information through centralised exchanges because you need to do KYC. So really there is no reason to have this witch hunt against privacy coins. Privacy coins are vital to digital currency success, how are banking systems and corporates going to operate without privacy on their systems?
Well, there you have it, another lady that rocks in the Crypto Atmosphere ! ! !
I absolutely learnt a lot from Adel and it has been a pleasure speaking to her. Privacy Coins is a whole different world, but absolutely important for this industry. Let's see where this is heading.
Adel, once again, thank you for your support and let's revisit next year to see what happened, I am excited and looking forward to all the progress that will be made ......
STAY SAFE ! ! !
