A great quote ones shared by Bob Marley: “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”
That is how I want to start my blog ! ! !
So, first of, Stephen Chip treated us with a very nice blog couple days ago:
The Best Music of 1993

It was a very nice “best” list, but it was his list .... so let's have my list next to it. Will be a little shorter, more European minded, so more euro Dance, less Rock & Roll, Grunge, Guitars and Loud Music....
Well there is no accounting for taste and that is great, otherwise we would not have so much music, Colin could not post multiple covers with amazing titles and photos and well, I could not post a blog besides the songs that Chip shared.
Once again, my list is totally different. Whether somebody loves music or not depends on many things. Are you grading on music, lyrics, composition, style ..... so many different things. You like no songs with only voices or no lyrics.
Songs, whether they are good or not good are also influenced by the state you are in: Maybe you were happy, lonely, got a bad message, you are in love, it all influences you. If parents/ family/ friends and or others love particular music this also influences. If you hear this music a lot, this could mean: you LOVE it also, or you HATE it because you hear it too much.
Music is definitely always there and I would like to share you my top 5 of the year: 1993. Most songs are probably known, maybe well known otherwise, give it a try, click on it and who knows, you may like it .....
Starting of with a song, you probably know. It has been in the top of a lot countries and is the first song I want to mention. Funny though, unlike I mentioned above, because it is alternative rock ! ! !
****Bigger, Better, Faster, More!

That is the title of their Album that aired for the first time in 1992. The year after, 1993 their big single: What's Up hit the charts and it hit big ...
You could NOT turn the radio on, there was no Spotify yet, without hearing: Twenty-five years and my life is still trying to get up that great big hill of hope ....... for a destination. The song topped the Dutch charts for 10 weeks. Cool Fact:
Linda Perry, 4 Non Blonde Lead Singer, has produced songs for P!nk en Christina Aguilera
Something YOU did not know ;–)
Another funny fact:
The title does not appear in the song
Everybody knows the famous song by Marvin Gaye (What's Going On) so they chose NOT to use that title. The song reached the number one position in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland, Pretty European minded ! ! !

The Album !
Second up, is probably a song, no, no, no, no a tune you have heard before, you may regret that part. I absolutely LOVE the song and when I found out, years after 1993 a movie was ALL about this song, I was just over the moon. Many songs in this era were from a movie (at least 2 more in this list), and it could definitely have its impact: MAKE THE MOVE ......... or BREAK IT ! ! !
First the movie, if you haven't seen it ..... and you are in a funny mood, go and watch: A Night At The Roxbury. If you don't do it for the movie, you have to do it for Richard Grieco, 21 Jump Street Star:

So, credits where credits are due and that is with the born Trinidad and Tobago singer: Haddaway with the massive single What is Love
The Euro Dance song hit the charts in '92 BUT reached the first position in 1993. In a lot of countries and it was a lot of love in Europe. A fun fact about this singer:
His mother was Dutch
The singer is now successful in fashion and lives in Austria
The huge song:

Wow, having 2 amazing tracks down. Totally different than Chips list, but also nice ! ! ! Actually, we should be happy that we have different tastes, otherwise Colin could not entertain us with his magnificent blogs ! ! !
*No* *Limits!*
These two songs are followed by a dance group that is very well known in the US, but it is their previous work that hit the US big. Dutch group 2 Unlimited hit very big in the US, but it is their management that made the dollars on that deal. You cannot watch sports, whether High School, College or a Professional Team, their song is played during the game. This was that hit:

Not the song that hit it big in 1993, their other hit No Limit ! ! ! 2 Unlimited, 2 Dutch artist that lived the party live. On record made around 16 Million Dollars but well, not too much of those dollars are left .......... or invested in Digital Money.
No Limit was made in a very short time, and really hit the top of the charts in many countries. Sold close to 3 million copies and guaranteed many gigs across the world:

Fun Fact about No Limits, even the Smurfs officially recorded their own version of the song:

All three songs pretty dancy ...... time for less beats per minute ! ! !
Mr. Bad Guy
The album title probably doesn't ring a bell immediately.
Everybody knows this singer, but he is more known when he was singing in group formation. This song was not very popular among the fans of the group as they thought it was some kind of betray. The music style was also different than what the group produced.
The song “Living On My Own” first hit the charts in 1985 and flopped. Did not get any further than place number 40 and the Queen fans were very happy ...... until 1993 ! ! ! A remake was offered: the No More Brothers-remix. This was actually 2 years after Freddy's death in 1991. It was claimed this was why it did so well in the charts, but fact:
it was the only solo project by Freddy that performed very well, number 1
The video for Living on My Own features footage from Mercury's 39th birthday in Munich.

The Bodyguard
I guess that title does not really leave a lot of guessing. Everybody knows this ............ movie and knows who starred in it: Yes, Kevin Costner and ...... Whitney Houston. Although, this song also is a 1992 song, it just stayed and stayed and stayed ! ! !
The original actually was recorded in 1974 by Dolly Parton. Was one of IF not her biggest hit, but Whitney did it even a little bit better. The Bodyguard soundtrack sold close to 50 million copies, still the best sold soundtrack ever and I Will Always Love You is best sold single of all time by a female singer. She also won a lot of Grammy's for this song. You hate it or you love it, it deserves a mention and one thing for sure, This one also sticks in your brain when you have heard it , FOR DAYS ! ! !
Minute 3.09 Put your sound L O U D ! ! ! Remember you have done that before....
