2021, a new year, BUT, still Corona.

Still a chance to do something with Lego, but we are going to do it differently. Mama Noah, found something great on Internet, so all the credits goes to her, Miniature Lego ! ! ! We actually had a friend who had the same thing, so she told us we were able to borrow it; she never finished it, too small and too “NOT HER THING” ! ! !

Did not know that the Miniature Horses of yesterday actually was the little bridge towards THIS blog: Miniature Horses, Miniature Lego ! ! ! This will be actually the last time I will mention the word Lego, as this is NOT lego, but another brand, but it looks like ..... LEGO ! ! !

All these small pieces form the following project:

We are going to have soooooo much fun ! ! !

In total there are 1700 pieces and well the box says for ages 14+. Yes the drawing is tough, but at this moment Noah is doing everything by himself ! ! !

I tell you, I have truly missed this. Doing a “Lego like” project. It is time consuming, gotta find time, BUT have to find it ! ! !

It is all about counting, it is all about precision, as this is really challenging, but I let Noah do the work: this is good for him, keeps him sharp and it is fun to see him do the work. The pieces were packed nicely:

Back at it, as the lockdown is far from over. As far as work allows, time to create a little bird from origami paper/ normal paper.

Very easy but for 5 year old children it is a little toy to play with for a long time.

Origami may sound a little TOO advanced, it is just folding pieces of paper, but doing it together with our son, just “kickin' it”, that is so much more than “folding pieces of paper”.

The perfect circle, that is what you need to start with

This is pretty much the rest of the forms you need to draw on a piece of paper, so in total you will have 4 pieces.

You have to fold them all in the middle, first the circles, the tail and the beak; look at the following picture and you will be able to see where to put all these:

If you fold it in the middle, the following bird comes out. We put the little legs on the side ourselves:

The bird cannot be alone .... let's give it a little friend:

We were really into it, so turned up the music AND ..... I asked Noah what animal had to accompany our birds:

Just created the pieces like we thought it would be perfect and once again folded it in the middle:

Putting it together, we just created it from scratch, this is what we came up with:

And folding it once more ...... once again, think Origami 301 ! ! !

And the elephant, was not allowed to be alone:

We had the party going on, look at all these little friends together.

We had a lot of fun. These are easy to make, and cost efficient if that could be the dealbreaker.

I would like to write about my diet, losing weight and getting a grip on my life, but I am just doing that for a little bit.

This is my 351st blog that I am writing. Special number ? ? ? No, not at all, but it is a lot of text :–) I am really surprised I wrote so many since the beginning. And not even a year on Coil ! ! ! Well, I have been on Coil more than a year, but that I started to really blog has been since some day in March, if I remember correct.

351, wow, amazing, but not done yet. Hope to cross the 400 and let's see where it goes from there.

So, losing weight, what is happening in that department. Well, not a whole lot. I am refusing to jump on the scales, as I want to wait for the weight being rational. I still have stayed away from cookies, chips and all kind of sugary products. Doing okay, not missing it, not craving it, just eating the healthy stuff. When I feel like eating something as in a snack, I most of the time grab a green pepper, slice it and enjoy it.

Push-ups have done all of them this year:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18. It still is easy and I hope you are still in the race.

Gord, go for it, you will be the one of the two of us showing the numbers, the declining numbers. I will promise to show a scales picture next week.

Yesterday I spoke about the happiness the snow brought to a lot of people yesterday, but that only lasted a day. The weather type: Snow, but also the happiness.

The temperature got a little higher, so the snow, well the snow eh ... what snow ! ! !

Beautiful whether though, so we got out on our bikes and just started riding. It was amazing, the sun was out, still a little chilly but amazing. Once again, other people outside laughing, cheering and enjoying the sun. I really noticed it and really enjoyed it. Lot of smiling around me, 1 ½ meters though.

So, we went to a little beach in the area where not a lot of people go, like today ..... not too many people out.

First thing we ran into: a nice little fire ..... made the scenery very cosy, that was a good start:

Last night was a fun night for the XRPTwin Family. Being GreenBay Packers fans we had a great end of the day/ start of the Sunday. Was a great game versus the Rams and we had to celebrate a little. Noah was only shouting Greenbay Packers, Greenbay Packers, Greenbay Packers:

Today was the first day since a long time it has snowed big time in the Netherlands. Actually the last time was February 22nd last year. So almost a year ago ! ! !

This is strange as we normally see snow in the winter months, most of the times white Christmas', but not last year. All around a weird year, I guess ! ! !

BUT

Today we were treated with the first snowy day. It was cold all day and around noon it started. We definitely wanted to go outside to enjoy the day. Staying at home is a toughy, so we just wanted to enjoy the snow. Here was the first shot of getting some snow together:

we also played a little soccer. Well, Noah did and he had a lot of fun. I know it may sound corny, about the first snow, but you saw the children having fun, the parents around the field having fun; much needed ! ! ! After playing this is what the field was looking like:

Some neighbourhood children and Noah wanted to build a snowman and they busted their little buts. This is actually what they made and I was really surprised:

Well, this was the product of 1 day snow. Yes, first snow man :–)

Later, that day ...... eh night, I had to get on the road and ehh this is how it looks now !!!!!

In Combination with a School Exercise, we had to create a marble game. Due to the Lockdown we have to educate/ homeschool Noah ourselves and we get some ideas from school and we have to do with it, what we would like ! ! !

So what do you need:

5 Plastic Cups

10 Sheets of Paper

Scotch Tape

Scissors

5 Marbles

First you grab the pieces of paper and role them together. One is a little smaller than than the other as they have to fit in each other. It doesn't have to look amazing, it needs to look you created it together with your little one. Noah handles the Scotch Tape and together we formed five “corridors” to be used for five cups ..... hmm..... corridors, that word can be used for other things ! ! !

Now it is time for the plastic cups. You need to take the bottom out with some scissors. Noah was allowed to do it, BUT I was sitting next to him, making sure he was cutting the plastic cups and not other things.

Now time to create some numbers and put everything together. Put the plastic paper in the cup holes and attach them with tape. Numbers on top and attach them to the side of the table.

Well, all this together put in a video. Enjoy it. We did and we do. It is very easy to create, don't make it too beautiful, simplicity does it.

Okay, okay, okay, time for a little review, time for some Netflix watching, as I have been really surprised by this series ....

I cannot say I have seen a lot of French series, but this one, wow, it is really good. We all know there are some amazing foreign series, well for me almost all series are foreign, but let's say there have been some very good non English spoken series. To mention a couple:

2. The Kingdom (South Korea)
3. Casa de Papel (Spain)
4. Dark (Germany)
5. Fauda (Israel)
6. Borgen (Denmark)
7. Hjem til Jul (Norway)
8. Brot (Iceland)
9. The Bridge (Bron / Broen) (Sweden / Denmark)
10. Lilyhammer (Norway)

Of course there is no accounting for taste and this is my opinion, but if people are looking for a new series, not afraid for a foreign language, if you are not French : LUPIN ! ! !

Main Character in Lupin is Omar Sy; amazing role and he is a well known actor.

If you recognise the man in the picture, this would not be a surprise to me. You could have seen him in the amazing movie: Untouchable, Jurassic World and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The series is all about Arsène Lupin, a fictional person by French writer Maurice Leblanc. BUT, it is not all about a fictional person, it IS about a fictional person Arsène Lupin. What this means .... well, just watch the series.

The series has only one episode and after watching the first one, I thought it was done. It could have been done, but they went on with episode 2 and I was REALLY happy ! ! ! Five episodes is not enough; but season 2 is coming, so, I am so waiting for this season.

IMDb shows a 7.5 out of 10 and more than 9.500 people voted. Yes, I understand the show is a little bit thin, only 5 episodes, but it is really played well by Omar. The US may come with a killer remake, throwing in the big bucks, maybe a movie, but a series could also be possible. Lupin is a cool story. If you liked the Thomas Crown Affaire, to give you an idea, go for this series.
