From The Archive November 15, 2020 – Jazz Alliance – “It Can Happen To You”

https://wordpress.hairylarry.rocks/?p=255

On September 27, 2011, Jazz Alliance played at the Jonesboro Public Library. With Ron Horton on trumpet; Craig Collison, vibes; David Eckert, bass; and Mike Overall playing drums they really delivered on this jazz standard, “It Could Happen To You”. Mike was editor at the Jonesboro Sun. Ron taught at ASU and Craig and David continue teaching at ASU nearly ten years later. Listen now as they give us an exquisite performance of “It Could Happen To You”.

From The Archive 2020-11-08 – El Bujo, “Monica”

https://wordpress.hairylarry.rocks/?p=231

Thanks Marty, it's always great to be on Arkansas Roots promoting great Arkansas musicians.

Gary Gazaway, from Pocahontas, has a fusion band called El Bujo with a contemporary jazz sound. On June 27, 2013, we were fortunate to have El Bujo play at a KASU Jazz Thursday show. I picked a song he wrote from that show from the archives. Here's El Bujo now, playing “Monica”.

The music for this show is “Enigma Warrior” by subatomicglue, a free culture band working in the video game rock genre.

Steve Lawson featured on jazzcomposers.net.

Steve is innovative and prolific. He does solo projects interspersed with collaborations. Absolutely amazing.

From The Archive 2020-11-01 – Delta Legends, “Big Boss Man” with Bob Corritore

https://wordpress.hairylarry.rocks/?p=225

Thanks Marty, it’s always great to be on Arkansas Roots playing music From The Archives of Something Blue.

My friend, Bob Corritore, is releasing some of his recordings From The Vaults that I will be featuring on Something Blue Saturday night. Last year at the King Biscuit Blues Festival he joined us on the last song of the Delta Legends set. Also on stage we had Rhode Island Red and Pinky Lee from the Emporium Orkestra jug band. We play true acoustic blues to the breakfast crowd every year at The Biscuit. Here we are now, Delta Legends and guests, playing a Blue Monday favorite, “Big Boss Man”.

And that’s “Big Boss Man” played by Delta Legends with guest star Bob Corritore on harp.

Tune in to Something Blue Saturday night at 10:00 to hear Bob Corritore, Dave Riley, Kid Ramos, Henry Gray, and Delta Legends.
