Adventures In ChromeLand
I've been using a Chromebook as my primary computer for the past few weeks, since my old laptop's wifi card died. It's been an interesting experience, as I've had to adjust to using a Chromebook rather than a traditional Linux PC. Despite this, it's been working decently for what it is. I enabled developer mode so I could sideload an F-Droid client (neo-store). I wish there was an easy way to gain root access on the Android subsystem, but I haven't found one yet.
Overall, the experiment hasn't been too frustrating. After enabling a chrome flag for GPU support, Linux apps run a lot better. I can even do some light photo editing with GIMP.
