My Thoughts At 3:17 AM

I went on a bit of a diatribe on Twitter a little bit ago. I was making the comparison of the self-imposed censorship on Twitter with the self-imposed slavery of socialism. This, versus the FREE use of Twitter with little interaction (if any) with the heads of the site regarding censorship of the users, and anarcho-socialism which is genuine prosperity of the people of a nation with little (if any) interaction with that of the government.

Instead, we have a censored social network (two of them, actually) dominating everything on the WWW that lends favor to propaganda accounts and establishment powers to say + do whatever they want. Meanwhile, in the real world, we have a tyrant as the POTUS that was put there by Russian voter fraud that was far-overlooked and well under-reported because the establishment was too busy trying to get their power player in the White House (Hillary Clinton).

What should be concerning the majority of Americans, is the fact that Puerto Rico has been largely without power for over a year + 4K people have passed away because of this. I give kudos to the fact that the Fourth Estate (the U.S. media) has enough integrity to report on the fact that the immigrant children who get ripped from their mothers arms is a newsworthy-enough story to stop covering Trump departing his plane to go to Mar-a-lago for more than one news cycle. I hope this type of integrity in the media actually keeps up for a while, but they (the media) lost all credibility with me years ago when they “moved along” and didn't keep with the tragedies of Sandy Hook in their headlines when that atrocity happened.

Going back to Twitter, we have folks like Emma Gonzalez continually participating in/promoting the March For Our Lives events occurring across the country and the movement is stronger than ever, yet, the U.S. media gives little to no coverage of this on their networks, in their publications. We have come full circle to there being an establishment “checks and balances” system of the journalists standing up for the everyday citizen and challenging those of authority, to there being an establishment press corps who is more concerned with access and their own power struggle. It has then been left to the everyday citizen to stand up for him/herself via social media. Citizen journalists, so to speak, are the only ones drawing attention to true matters and issues that should actually be relevant to people in the United States and around the world.

There is little to no benefit is watching the news on television, nor listening to it on the radio, nor reading it in a newspaper / magazine / mainstream website. These have been long-since compromised by those of either immense power, wealth concentrated interests, or access-seeking journalists who will do the bidding of whoever gets them the most recognition.

What can be reasonably relied-upon is reason. In and of itself. Critical thinking. Independent decision-making. The ability for the average citizen to think for themselves has eroded heinously since mass media has come into everyday life. Perhaps there was still some chance of a “breather”, a pause, a break, a time to reflect BEFORE everyone carried around smartphones and emphatically checked their Newsfeed/Timeline every 60 seconds. But instead, we have a nation of the scared, triggered, and neurotic citizenry who (ironically) believe they are informed, empathetic, and connected.

Perhaps, people can leave their phones on their bedside table for a bit? Perhaps limit their television intake? Stop listening to the radio in their car on the way to work? Stop reading what amounts to a triggering headline in their Newsfeed only to share it (along with everybody else) in their social circle. These things are a cancer on American society. Instead of doing these things, take a day, a week, a month or more, to yourself and visit your local library. Read about something that interests YOU! Talk with your friends and family instead of looking down at a glass slab every 60 seconds. If one of them brings up happenings in the world, change the subject. Be aware of your immediate surroundings in the Here and Now. Be conscious.

these late nights

when it is 12 AM and the road outside is absolutely vacant and all i can hear is the dull whisper of air conditioners and the crickets chirping, it is peaceful. i can think the most clearly at these hours and the Internet moves so slow, it is like i am back #offline again. Imagine every moment being like the one I just described, that is what being off the Internet for days at a time feels like.

Speaking of offline activities, i don't think i am going to go offline anytime soon and it may be that the 2-4 weeks i used to spend offline every other month or so (for two years) may be over. Yes, they are peaceful and relaxing, and nice, but, the Internet offers so much more in the ways of stimulation and communication. I do like the Internet, I just wish people would spend their time not obsessing over it like it is the re-invention of the wheel. It is portable television, phones are. Media consumption is media consumption, any way you look at it. I don't even like newspapers. And much like I made the New Years resolution to spend less time on the Internet in 2015 (yet, not truly fulfilled until 2016), I am making a “mid-year” resolution to not consume any media whatsoever within the next year. I will still reads books, and listen to music, but no magazines, newspapers, radio, television, or Internet of any kind. I just like spending my time by myself (though other PEOPLE are OK, too, just not stranger-friends from the WWW).

The thing that could make an offline stay 100% possible/semi-permanent, would be to have some sort of fireplace or outdoor chiminia (if you have ever seen one of those). That is truly the best way of killing time: having a nice, large fire to look at. It is the way people did it before the “media” was really a thing. Because nature creates it's own form of entertainment. There is nothing that cannot be found in nature that couldn't replace all the modern “conveniences” we “depend” on nowadays. It is preposterous to think that a modern-day human being couldn't live without Air BnB, online banking, a digitized address book, texting, YouTube, Facebook, or any other thing that so many people spend every waking minute consuming/using. We (humans) would be better off if there were no WWW. No phones. No desktops or laptops. Nothing. Just us and our wits. Things got done and life was easy (albeit, much slower) before the Internet occurred. I see no immediate end to the Web on the horizon, but then again with Global Warming, absolutely anything is possible (that is, if the lights even stay on).

See? I told you i think more clearly on quiet nights like this!

Be back in a bit!

here comes warm rain

the best weather in the world. it is very windy and very warm outside and the sky is b.l.a.c.k. This is a v good thing. And of course, I have the sliding glass door open so i can enjoy it :) Aside from that, nothing special happening/happened today. I just stayed inside other than to pretend-complain to the apt managers about all the noise last night. They were super-nice to me so i didn't “demand” i get a month of rent off. That was looking p doubtful, anyway. Nevertheless, I am going to be able to still get my tattoo here soon, and it will be a big one ;)

Usually Coffee...

...but sometimes soda as soon as i wake up in the morning. The latter is not good for me at all to have....ever, but i am quite a soda-addict, i admit. Right now i am having a Diet Pepsi and Tweeting and trying to think of what i am going to do w/ my day. I am hoping i will not have to listen to the construction crew bang away with a sledgehammer in the apt above me like i did from 6-10PM last night. That shit was insane and i am still going to complain about it.

I'll find something to do

Be back in a bit!

Construction Has Ended

FINALLY

They sledgehammer'd away at the floors since 6PM and just stopped at 10PM. I am assuming they are going to go at it again tomorrow, which is when i will walk over to the leasing office and TELL them i am not paying my rent for the month. But if they do NOT show up raising hell upstairs tomorrow, i will probably have to pay the full month's rent :/

Either way, i am getting tattooed soon and that is the only thing i care about at the moment. Ink is the #1 priority because i am sick of (sometimes) looking at the big blank spot on the bottom of my forearm. Tattoos are expensive though, so, idk if i am going to get too many more after this. We'll see.

Anyway, how is everyone's night?

Construction Hell

The apartment complex that i live at decided to hire an outside crew of people to tear up the floors in the apartment above me and i go ZERO notice that they were going to do this. They have been slamming away with a sledgehammer for the past three hours and now the sun has gone down and they are still at it. So, tomorrow i am going to walk into the office and TELL them I am NOT going to pay the rent this month. This is insane. If they had given me notice, i might have considered overlooking it, but they didn't, so I won't.

This just means more $$$ for a #tattoo when rent is due and I will get something bigger than i had already planned on. #WorksForMe

Music always puts me in a better mood

without fail. i am listening to Leftover Crack and brewing coffee and just about 10 minutes ago, i felt bored out my mind and overall pretty miserable. Music wins.

anyway....yeah

a day in the life

#meds: arrived!

daily pills: consumed!

vegetarian, awesome, perfect chili: cooked and eaten (delish)

etcetera, etcetera

Today is a good day and it is getting better considering i just took my recommended dose of Lexapro and had a very spicy chili dish. It turned out great, really did.

Tomorrow i go to the 'rents to do laundry and pick up some sodie pop and maybe a bite to eat, as well.

more later

Littered Thoughts landing page is LIVE!

I just got done tooling around w/ litteredthoughts.info (a domain i own) on carrd.co and i am pleased to say (thx to Scribd), the #ebook is now LIVE and ready to be viewed or/and downloaded by anyone and everyone who has the Internet! :):):)

i set up litteredthoughts.info some time ago and was (very) pissed when GoDaddy decided to publish my personal contact info all over the entire god damn WWW, but i have since stemmed that dilemma and can now publish w/ the litteredthoughts.info domain again.

So, i have the ebook (as well as Copyright info) on Scribd and i also have the LT (guess what that stands for!) folder on the desktop of the Raspberry Pi w/ the complete .ePub document should i decided to publish in another....way. There is still a littttle bit of fine-tuning to do with this whole thing, but the basics are there :)

So, d/l it today! It's free! It's good! It rules!

24-Hour Fast is...over

Not because i successfully fasted for 24 hours, but because i was hungrier than hell and i was having stomach cramps and those are especially painful when you have an esophageal disease. Nevertheless, i made it about 18 hours and i feel better from it but afterwards, i broke the fast w/ having a spicy rice wrap w/ sweet peas (the peas added a lot to it, believe it or not). Other than that, i have spent most of the morning listening to U.S. Bombs – “War Birth” album and just a little bit ago I downloaded Siouxsie and the Banshees- “Tinderbox” album. The phone is charging right now otherwise I would be listening to it. Good music all around :)

The #meds that i ordered on f.r.i.d.a.y. did not get delivered Saturday so i called the pharmacy about them today and they said that they are being filled today because...i don't know why. Delays for medications are always a pain in the ass because i would feel even better today if i had Lexapro in my system. But i still feel good regardless.

Anyway, that is about it for now. Be back in a bit!
