so refreshing
to see people still doing blog posts. it seems that blogging (in all areas) is a lost art. people seem to be really great at “branding” themselves & running personal/brand ads on social media so no one wants to refer to their writing or whatever as a “blog” so, they b.e.c.o.m.e.t.h.e.i.r.b.r.a.n.d. Sad, really. I don't see why people can't just have a personal blog/online diary/“Web Log”??? Like i said, it's a lost art & i wish it wasn't.
i just came across a blog post on my Twitter TL & it's like: “Yea! That's the ticket! #oldschool!” Haha.
I started blogging when i was abt 17 years old (34 now) and it started with me not knowing wtf i was doing and typing text into a damn HTML editor & uploading through some convoluted FTP process on AOL Members service. This was 2002. It was called O'Leary's Corner (the blog) & i have since lost track of it (i am sure AOL has long-since deleted it) but in 2014 i took out a Craigslist ad to try to get some help finding this long-lost blog. I have some leads, but most of the responders to the CL ad simply typed in the name & came back with “Here! olearyscorner.com! First Google result!” like some proud little kid as if i hadn't thought of that, & it was p dense to think that was the blog in question. MY blog is aol.members.ftp....dot...something or other & i will never know what the proper address is. So....lost forever.
Anyway, be back in a bit!
