Up between sleep segments with my prayers and my angels. My three angels. Pictured here are three of my great-grandchildren whom I have yet to meet face to face (f2f).

This picture was taken Saturday of this weekend on the occasion of my great grandson's 5th birthday party.. The two little girls are daughters of my oldest granddaughter living in the American Midwest, and the little boy is the son of my youngest granddaughter who also lives in the American Midwest. Thank God my daughter and granddaughters generously share photos and video chat time!
Sylvia also has great-grandchildren living on islands in the South Pacific whom we love dearly but with whom we have yet to meet f2f. Reasons of distance, health, and logistics are keeping us apart for now. Hopefully our situations will change in the future and we'll be able to travel and meet with them all. God willing.
And with that happy thought I'm also looking forward to my next sleep segment of the night. May God be with us all.

Early afternoon Saturday and all is well. Thunderboomers woke me ~01:30 and the heavy storm kept me up for most of the rest of the night. More rain may come this evening and tomorrow but all is calm now. Calm and humid. Thank God for good air-conditioning!
Recovery from last Sunday's fall continues. I'm not 100% yet, but each day is better than the one before.

My Friday ends quietly. Thank God! Sylvia retrieved her special “back support” seat cushion we purchased two Summers ago after she fell and hurt her back. Now I'm using it to help in my recovery from last Sunday's fall. It helps tremendously! Now I can sit comfortably in my office chair, and I can rise from the chair without groaning in pain. Ah! Such a simple thing making such a big improvement in my quality of life!

Interesting (at least to me) how the “recovery” from my fall on Sunday has progressed. It seems to have morphed into a problem of osteoarthritis that has plagued me for years: stiffness and soreness along my entire spinal column from my neck down to my hips and across both shoulders. Now it's mostly from my mid back down into my hips. That darned fall seems to have triggered that arthritis into a “flare-up” kind of situation.

As I continue to deal with the lingering soreness from my fall last Sunday, it is good to find new photos of my great-granddaughters. Helps my mood tremendously!

Rainy days continue here in San Antonio, and even heavier rain is forecast for the weekend. 5 to 7 inches Fri. through Sun., the weatherman says. Not that I feel much like going out and doing anything anyway.
Slow recovery from my fall last Sunday continues. The sharper pain has mostly faded, except in my lower back and hips when I try to move inappropriately. Most noticeable today has been a general lethargic, sluggishness that's been with me all day. Not fun.
Maybe tomorrow will be better. Let's hope.

The healing of my injuries from yesterday is proceeding according to God's plan. Today I'm in lass pain than yesterday. The Nurse yesterday said I'd be sore for a few days, but the Doctor said to give it a few weeks. And he said if the lower back and shoulder problems continue beyond that, then I should consider seeing an arthritis specialist.
Given that I'm 74 y/o and diabetic, I'm not expecting things to move too quickly.

So my Sunday was unexpectedly eventful.
Long story short, I slipped and fell on rain slicked steps, bashed my head against the concrete, and caused undue worry to family and friends. Luckily I was in the company of Brother Knights, there was helpful police presence right there, and one police lady with EMT training who cleaned up and bandaged my cut.
And yes, Sylvia drove me to the hospital where got checked out by nurses, technicians and a doctor
I'm back home now with a fresh tetanus shot, a head wrap to cover the scrape on the back of my head until it scabs over, and a sling for my left arm until the shoulder soreness eases up.
Cat scan and x-rays showed no broken bones. The doctor said it may take a few weeks before I'm 100% again. And he told me to take Tylenol or ibuprofen for the soreness. if I start experiencing dizziness, bad headaches, or nausea within the next few days to come right in to the ER. Standard concussion protocol I suppose.
So no permanent damage done, and it's just a matter of waiting for things to heal up.

The first of my three long, hard days is now in the books. All went well, but I'm more tired than I ever want to be. And tomorrow starts very early for a Sunday and will be long through the morning and early afternoon. At least. And that will be day number 2 of my 3 hard ones in a row. Hoping now for a good night's sleep to get ready for it.

Not the best Friday I've ever had, but it's been good enough. Furniture move this morning, swapping the big broken gamer's chair from my room with the sturdy little office chair from the back porch has made my room much more livable. Took Sylvia out for lunch at a favorite restaurant, then exploring a new little store after chatting with local politicians was fun. A low key. restful day.
