Another quiet, peaceful Sunday winds down.
I'm listening to game 6 of the ALCS and hoping my Rangers win.
Hips are still a problem, kept me home from Mass again. /sigh.

One very fast moving Friday is now slowing down. Thank God.
It was not a particularly good day for my hips. Thinking I was more healed than I actually was, I neglected to apply the ointment to my hips in the morning. And I failed to take my morning pain meds. And I paid for that all day long.
Lesson learned. I'll be more responsible re: my hips tomorrow morning.

Thursday afternoon and all is well in the Roscoe-verse.
This afternoon finds me listening to favorite podcasts, and enjoying what has become the regular midday respite from my wonky hips.
Walking is still a risky and very painful proposition in the morning hours, but by midday I can confidently leave my walking stick alone while moving from room to room, or carefully out in my yard. Stairs are still impossible and any steps up or down are still challenging, as is carrying even a moderate weight, (loaded kitchen trash bags, etc.) I still consider myself house-bound, only leaving home when absolutely necessary, and when accompanied by my wife.

An easy-going, comfortable Wednesday is winding down.
Rode along with the wife to Universal City and back earlier this evening. She had some shopping to do, I waited in the car.
Listening now to the Rangers / Astros ALCS Game. My Rangers have won the 1st two games in this best of 7 game series. Tonight is the 3rd game. Be nice if we win.

Getting things done this Tuesday. Monitoring my finances with an eagle-eye following last week's phone hack. All looks well at the moment, but I'm going to be watching things super closely for at least another month or so, then I'll register with Experian or some similar agency to watch things along with me.
Glad that both my Rangers and my Cowboys won their games yesterday. Tonight I'll try to catch a radio broadcast of the Phillies / Diamondbacks game.
And those hips: I've had worse days and I've had better days. Schlepping my clothes to the machines in the garage and back to my room while doing my laundry this afternoon is today's exercise. Pretty lame, huih? Oh well.

Not a bad Monday: I was able to call my car insurance company to give them updated billing info, called my doctor's office to give them my new phone number, switched two regular donations I make away from credit cards I've decided to freeze, taking care of business stuff.
My Texas Rangers won game # 2 of the best of 7 ALCS series against the Astros earlier today, and tonight I listen to my Dallas Cowboys playing the Los Angeles Chargers. My baseball team won today, and if my football team wins tonight, that'll be really nice!
The hips: really wonky this morning, not so bad during the middle of the day, and not so good this evening. Meh. At least they weren't bad all day.

Happy Sunday, everyone. Still home-bound with my wonky hips, I'll be depending on NFL games through the day and the Rangers MLB ALCS game vs the Astros tonight to keep me properly entertained.
And about those hips, as I explained to my daughter and son-in-law yesterday, recovery is happening but not in a straight line progression. Some days are better, but some days aren't. The good days never see me 100% recovered, but the bad days now aren't nearly as bad as most days were during July, August, and September. The general trend is clearly good, there are more better days than bad. And for that I'm thankful!! And I can look forward to being 100% better “some day” in the future.

Midday Saturday and all is well in the Roscoe-verse.
Sylvia and I enjoyed a video chat several hours ago with my daughter and her family back in Indiana, and she used her special protective glasses to view the annular eclipse as it passed through San Antonio.
I've got College Football games to keep me entertained today. Without any particular emotional attachment to any of the teams playing, this will be easy watching,. Relaxing, not overly exciting.
The hips are not as strong as they have been the last couple of days, but they're still in better shape than they have been for the previous weeks and months. I'm needing to use the walking stick again when moving around the house today
And so it goes.

Friday the 13th. HA! Today my stupid hips began feeling better than they have in months! Yay! Still not 100% normal, far from that. But at least I'm able to walk around the house without cringing in pain and without the fear of falling and without the walking stick in my hand.

So it's Thursday and my hips are less painful and wonky than they were yesterday. And that's a good thing. Maybe I'll be able to resume some of the light strengthening and stretching exercises soon. That will be nice.
