Getting famous is way more narcissistic than getting paid to take care of yourself and your family anyway.
It's always funny when agents say being famous and unique and however virtuous one can be is more important than getting paid to perform a job. Is that why you became agents even though all of you have illustration degrees?
Since the more unique and niche you are with your style, the more you can get high-paying commissions IF you can get, and your agents will therefore take a bigger percentage cut. But you also narrow down your pool of buyers. That won't affect your agent because they are not your only agent, but an agent of a few dozens. So they will take their cuts from someone somewhere else anyway.
I'm talking to people today so I won't have to do it in a month and a half.
