The Brazilian federal police seized the highest quantity of cocaine in the history of #RiodeJaneiro. It was almost 2.5 tons in the city of #Caxias. According to a news media called #OGlobo, 2.2 lb (1 kg) of cocaine was worth 213 thousand reals in 2016. If we consider the value hasn't changed, those 2.5 tons mean over 532 billion reals.

Also, the federal police arrested the middleman responsible for supplying guns to the #Rio's biggest criminal gang.

The #Bolsonaro administration organized 107 auctions in 2020 (so far) in order to sell drug-dealing related goods that were seized by the police. In 2019 they were 11 and in 2018 only 7. The total raised was 1.2 billion reals, a record high, and this money is invested in the law enforcement and in antidrug treatment and prevention projects.

The Brazilian #DepartmentofEducation (#MinistryofEducation) finished replacing the online and paper production and distribution of material for children that contained controversial stories. One of them talked about a king that fell in love with a princess; unusual stories which the #Bolsonaro adm considers that it should be left for parents or others to deal with, not the state.

Delivering on his promise to follow on #Trump's footsteps to decrease #bureaucracy and #redtape by revoking 2 decrees for every new one he would sign, #Bolsonaro administration has been able to reduce 2.5 times more, and after signing less than 700 decrees, some of them against his own will due to the fact that they are mandated by law, more than 3,300 decrees were revoked. The number of regulations he revoked during these almost 2 years already surpassed the number of the previous 20 years.

Fun fact about the Brazilian president. In the beginning of his career, #Bolsonaro's parachute had a problem and he broke both of his arms and both of his legs when he hit the ground. There was some expectations that he was going to be a great athlete in the military, until then.

After almost two years #Bolsonaro administration, it is reasonable to say that the biggest threat to his government is the #military itself. They've been showing to be a great power in keeping him up, at the same they also seem to be the greatest threat to his administration.

One of his highest profile military and another one that is not part of his government but has a lot of publicity never stop saying undermining things about his electorate and saying/defending things the president doesn't.

#GeneralSantosCruz said recently: “IT'S ABOUT NARROWMINDED PEOPLE, WHO PUT EVERYTHING IN TERMS OF RIGHT AND LEFT, FRIEND AND FOE. [...] YOU CAN'T REDUCE A COUNTRY THE SIZE OF #BRAZIL TO A BINARY SITUATION” He was criticizing the right. The Brazilian philosopher #OlavodeCarvalho called his attention to the fact that he never says anything like that when referring to people on the left.

Santos Cruz also expressed the possibility of running to some political position in the future and even joining the former Secretary (Minister) of Justice (and judge in the #LavaJato [#CarWash] operation) #SérgioMoro, who has totally turned against the president and made serious accusations and that he never proved.

The other polemic one is #GeneralHamiltonMourão, nothing less than our vicepresident, who recently recognized #JoeBiden as the president elect of the #UnitedStates. Bolsonaro hasn't done that and apparently won't do it until the official result is out. The VP doesn't even need to say anything, let alone make such a disaligned announcement and ahead of the president.

#SãoPaulo Governor #JoãoDória presses for the mandatory vaccination from #China besides #Bolsonaro repeatedly emphasizing that the gov't will not allow for a mandatory vaccine, citing China's and the #OMS' poor and suspicious handling of the #pandemic, the insuficiently tested and doubtful vaccine, and also citing Brazilian laws to justify his administration's position.

During an interview for #CNN yesterday, #Dória said, “We're going to wait 48 hours. If the gov't doesn't back down until Friday and doesn't do what what it has to do, support the vaccination, including the one from #Butantan [provided by China], we know what actions can be taken, either by São Paulo's or other governors, who are saddened and feeling frustrated.”

Dória is counting on other leftist governors and also on mayors, congresspeople, and senators; and also some political parties; to use the Article 196 of the #Constitution in order to push for an impeachment proceeding (one more Bolsonaro would face). The Article says:

“Health is a right for all citizens and it's a State duty to provide it, making sure there are social and economic policies aiming to reduced diseases and other severe illnesses, and to allow every citizen to have universal and equal access to prevention, protection, and recovery actions and services.”

Fortunately, the gov't has a good deal of evidence, studies, and numbers, from #Brazil itself and from other countries, to back up the position for not going for a mandatory vaccination. The gov't, at least based on what we've seen on social media, also counts with the support from the population. The group supporting a mandatory vaccination, as it seems for now, can mostly count on the dishonesty of judges and congresspeople and senators to acheive what they wish.

#SãoPaulo's Governor #JoãoDória continues to move on with his antagonism toward the #Bolsonaro administration. During a press conference, #Dória said, “São Paulo is going to be vaccinated. I already made sure that the 45 million Brazilians will be vaccinated, and in São Paulo the vaccination will be mandatory, unless a citizen has a prescription from a doctor ordering otherwise. It's not conceivable that, in a pandemic, some be vaccinated and others not.”

This pandemic has brought perhaps the highest level of disagreeableness in modern history. Some of the reasons: 👉 While the numbers of infected and deaths of #COVID19 rose, the numbers of other diseases and sicknesses dropped proportionally; 👉 #China never allowed other nations to go there to help investigate the spread; 👉 The #WHO took long to make some obvious recommendations and changed others a couple of times, some of them being conflicting; 👉 A mask cannot totally keep the virus from spreading and, when used for a long period of time, can damage one's own health by increasing the inhale of material intended to be exhaled from the body; 👉 Small agglomerations were prohibited, with law-abiding citizens being sent to jail and treated rudely or violently, while police did nothing proportionally strong to end violent protests; 👉 The public transportation was partially interrupted, resulting in fewer buses and trains to get more crowded; 👉 The vaccination hasn't gone under the usual time of testing to be considered safe for a virus that is not even well understood.

On #Instagram, Bolsonaro reacted to #Dória's statement by posting about a law from this year that says that a vaccination to fight the #Chinesevirus could be mandatory, but also posted about a law from 1975 that says that the vaccination program is of the Department of Health's responsability, and that the local governments can only decide for a mandatory vaccination after a meeting with the DoH.

He finished by writing, “Besides the fact that the law says that the public administration can ask for a mandatory vaccination, my administration doesn't see the need for it neither will recommend the local governments to do so.”

“The DoH will offer a vaccination in a safe way and at the right moment, after being approved by the #ANVISA (our #FDA), but without demanding it to be taken mandatorily.”

The #Bolsonaro administration has been trying to reduce gov't spending by also cutting investment in advertising, and while reviewing the contracts, they found some curious (and outrageous) ones, like this one the state-run oil company #Petrobras had with the #FormulaOne, a contract to pay 150 million reals per year during 5 years.

When Bolsonaro called the president of Petrobras and asked him to rescind this contract, he was informed that it didn't have a condition for the termination of contract on Petrobras' part. Bolsonaro demanded that he found a way out and things eventually worked out and the contract was terminated.

Another action of malice from some of the mainstream news outlets was saying that a senator caught hiding money between his buttocks in #Roraima was the vice-leader of the gov't in the #Senate.

Yes, he was the vice-leader, but he was not a direct nomination. He was chosen to be the vice-leader by a party that happens to support the president, but #Bolsonaro had no role in choosing him.

AND THE #SUPREMECOURT'S (#STF'S) POLEMIC PUNISHMENT One of the judge-ministers punished the senator with a 90-day suspension and this decision outraged many congresspeople and senators, and was widely criticized. The reason is that the judge-minister didn't wait for the regular proceedings to take place, which included the #Senate itself to take some action.

The judge-minister's decision has been seen as a disrespect for the separation of powers and as a virtue-signaling act; an unconstitutional act.
