#Bolsonaro has put some emphasis on the issue of animal cruelty recently. While some people defend stronger punishment on animal abusers, it's higher than for human abuse in many cases, and they still want the punishment to increase. This is not good. The president has urged the population to take a stand on this issue, help the government improve laws regarding animal protection. At the same time, he's trying to avoid protecting animals more than protecting humans.

FEEDING THEM, NOT WANTING THEM There are too many stray cats and dogs in #Brazil, and many people feel compelled to feed these animals without adopting them, causing them to increase in population and sometimes become a threat to humans.

Sometimes they come to a place to be fed but the feeder doesn't adopt them, so they spend most of the time going around, nobody knowing where they're going or what they're doing. The feeder doesn't know if they have a disease or if they are aggressive, or both.

This can be a risk for babies and toddlers (maybe even adults) who might have contact with them, or be attacked by them, or these animals can let their fur stick on clothes, or they can lick or pee or poop on places where humans can get in touch inadvertently.

Stray cats and dogs should be controlled. We need organizations to take these animals from the streets, and people who wish to feed them, that they adopt them for good; putting on a leash, taking them to vaccinate, etc.

We don't expect bureaucracy, but more control for sure.

Justice ruled he was a lone wolf, but there are several evidences that put that ruling in question. Among them, the fact that one of the most expensive law firms in Brazil, and a favorite among many politicians, sent a private jet the other day with a team of laywers to defend the stabber, #AdélioBispo.

Yesterday, during a livestream, #Bolsonaro said he's in talks with the intelligence agency, the #UnitedStates, and several other people regarding the #5G technology. He shares the American concern that this technology, where #China is leading, can represent a national security threat. The US is trying to develop its own 5G, so it's possible that #Brazil adopts theirs.

#Bolsonaro announced that the gov't's going to open 33 infrastructure construction projects this September, of which 27 of them started in previous governments. There are projects that started 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago, and even 40 years ago.

He said that the gov't's priority is to break with the common practice of previous gov't's ignoring their predecessors' constuctions in order to start their own, and this was perhaps the second biggest frustration for Brazilians, second only to corruption (as if discontinuation wasn't some kind of corruption).

His Secretary of Infrastructure, a military, said, “#Brazil can't be reinvented every four [or eight] years. Infrastructure is a State matter [not one gov't/administration's matter]. Investment in infrastructure is a long-term matter.”

A news media outlet called #VEJA, known for its leftwing position, posting #fakenews and #misinformation more often than not, posted an article saying that the biggest criminal faction in #Rio, #ComandoVermelho, has been sheltering mercenaries with military experience from #Africa and #EastEurope to help train CV members in #Brazil.

The article says CV has over 5,000 rifles, 30,000 members, currently controls most of the drug business, and has dangerously grown in the neighboring states of #Acre (which borders #Bolivia and #Peru) and #Amazonas (#Colombia, #Peru, and #Venezuela).

One controversial thing about this article is the fact that it was based on information provided in a #WhatsApp group, and this group exposed personal information from an American, claiming that he's been involved in training CV members. He posted a video saying he's not doing that, that he's married to a Brazilian, also that he filed a report at the police, and finally he made an appeal to #Bolsonaro by offering military and #lawenforcement personnel training for free.

The government achieved a great result from the bidding process for concessions and private investments in #PortofSantos in #SãoPaulo. The total is about 900 million reals, showing how investors and the private sector are optimistic about the work done by the #Bolsonaro administration, even during a moment the government's revenue is low and has had to increase its spending due to the pandemic.

A Brazilian journalist commenting on the accusations that one of #Bolsonaro's sons is involved in corruption:

“This shows that even at corruption standards our #Brazil has gone down the tubes, because, with the previous administrations, during #PT, we would hear the news of some kind of corruption that was glamorous; they were big companies, state-run companies, #Petrobras, big companies with overseas dealings; it was a Hollywoodian corruption. Today, with the lower clergy reaching the power, an ex-congressman from the Congress' lower clergy (Bolsonaro), and councilmen from Rio (his sons), what we have is a different standard of corruption, the most ordinary kind of corruption typical of the lower clergy. So, even when it comes to that, we are worse.”

Some judges of the Brazilian Supreme Court (#STF) seem to have a plan to put an end to the #LavaJato ('#CarWash') operation, which started in 2014 and was responsible for putting the ex-President #Lula behind bars. The plan is to guarantee the majority of votes against the continuation of the operation before one judge retires in the end of the year and Bolsonaro appoints a new one, starting a process of de-leftizing the court.

But why is the STF interested in ending CarWash? That's not a short story, but we're try to summarize it. It seems to be two things. One is the fact that some judges might be involved with some people the operation is strangely avoiding investigating, and two seems to be ideological, being the judges aligned with the left.

Due to the success of the operation and Lula's prison, #Bolsonaro (then candidate to the presidency) expressed his wish to have the head of the operation, #SérgioMoro, in his cabinet as the Secretary of the Department of Justice, and so it happened. As time passed, Bolsonaro started to grow frustrated with #Moro. The frustration was because the empowerment and freedom Bolsonaro was giving the Law Enforcement was not making CarWash stronger, but the opposite. Even before Bolsonaro became president, the operation found evidence that politicians from a party called #PSDB, known in #Brazil to be the smart, the powerful, the educated, the suited-and-tied left was involved in corruption, but not a single one of them was subpoened for a hearing.

This led some Bolsonaro allies and some journalists to start observing Moro's moves more closely and analyzing his past, his connections, and to start reviewing his and his colleagues' decisions in CarWash. This scrutiny along with Bolsonaro's frustration with CarWash being slowed down and also seeing that not a single PSDB politician was being investigated resulted in him firing Moro.

Moro's positions only got clearer and clearer after he left the gov't, one of them being that he was actively trying to keep PSDB folks from being investigated due to close ties he, his wife, and several other people close to him have had with many of this party's members and others non-politicians that allegedly have a compromised relationship.

Bolsonaro's new DOJ secretary demanded that CarWash provided information about why dozens of thousands of information collected on politicians and ordinary citizens were collected without a clear reason, and also demanded information on why not a single PSDB politician had been subpoened to testify even when they have evidence of wrongdoings.

Numerous things that have been brought to light since Bolsonaro was elected reinforce the idea that some Supreme Court judges have complicated ties with PSDB politicians, and that CarWash judges are at least ideologically hand in hand with those. That could explain the unacceptable behavior the STF, along with the opposition-controlled Congress and Senate, has been having since Bolsonaro was elected, greatly interfering with the freedom of his administration to work on his electoral promises.

BOLSONARO'S STABBING Bolsonaro (and his allies and his voters) also got frustrated that Moro's term as DOJ secretary brough practically zero progress in who was behind his attempted murder, even though there is enough evidence to believe the stabber (#Adélio) didn't carry out his plan alone.

Some of the evidences are: 👉 He was a PSOL party member (leftist) a couple of years ago; 👉 There was a log as a visitor in the Congress system on the day of the stabbing; 👉 The voice of a person saying “Adélio, not now, not now” can be heard prior to the stabbing; 👉 Adélio had several phones; 👉 The next day, a very expensive and one of big-politicians' favorite law firm sent a group of lawyers on a private jet to defend Adélio.

CONSPIRACY THEORY Thanks to the internet and the social media, Brazilians learned some harsh truths the hard way, like the fact that the #militaryregime failed miserably to control leftists from critically infecting the government, and that the PSDB and #PT (Lula's) parties were not what they showed themselves to be, rightwing and leftwing, respectively, but both have always been leftwing, with PT being more solidly to the left. They purposefully played the opposites in an attempt to keep the country on the left. In Portuguese we call it 'playing the scissors.'

The left knew that Bolsonaro was, in fact, a rightwing candidate, and they knew he was honest and had never been involved in corruption scandals. They knew Bolsonaro was strong and that he could bring real change. They had to do something.

This conspiracy theory makes sense when we consider the evidences that Adélio didn't carry out his plan alone.

A judge in #RioGrandedoSul ordered that the identities of those responsible for the #SleepingGiantsBrasil be disclosed. The #SleepingGiants was created in the #UnitedStates little after #Trump's election with the purpose of informing big businesses and companies if ads showing up on their websites belong to hate groups so that they can be removed and filtered.

Over time, the Sleeping Giants revealed to be an arm of the left by only targeting rightwing, conservative groups, and they called special attention in Brazil for the speed with which their reports took effect, making 130 brands commit themselves to remove certain ads since May 18th, when the Sleeping Giants started operating in #Brazil.

According to the Brazilian constitution, it's not a crime to be anonymous, and the Sleeping Giants' actions can be seen as a call for boycott, and neither a boycott nor a call for it are a crime either.

The problem is that some of the Sleeping Giants' tweets contain statements that are considered defamation, and thus, and once the targets file a lawsuit, their anonymity is no longer a right. Although their identity can be revealed to the victims, it's not clear if it will go public, since this decision is up to the on the judge.

Good chances are that we can have a good surprise if we ever know who's behind them.

After the manufacturing index (#PMI) in #Brazil had a small drop in March, a scary drop in April, a little rise in May, and a rise in June that was high enough to make it match the months prior to March's drop, July set the highest PMI level in a month since #JairBolsonaro took office, and it's also the highest in a month since 2012. Such a quick and record high wouldn't be possible without a leaner administration and more business-friendly policies. Also in July, 131,010 jobs were created.
