Links within and between blog posts

Nothing earth-shattering here but I've worked out how to link within a single page/post of the blog and added navigating options to the end of each post. Satisfying stuff, done in the wee hours of the morning when the world is quiet! Read on for the tips if interested!

I started looking into links within a page to make my Archive more navigable as it grows bigger. The interwebs had a variety of suggestions but the one that I found worked best with Write.as was HTML with “span” (although it does seem to need a Pro account):

Step 1: Add destination anchor to the text you want to link to e.g.

Step 2: Add Markdown link in a similar way to when you link to webpages, just use a # instead e.g.

More navigation between pages

The other thing I decided to do was add a few standard Markdown links to the bottom of the page to increase navigation around the site:

Next post | Previous post | Home | Archive | Search

I've not added this to all my previous posts yet – maybe one day for completeness – but then again, maybe not!
