Fresh start to a fresh day
i was a little bit worried yesterday about the whole financial situation until i realized that it would just be a matter of rescheduling some stuff and then i don't have to worry about it anymore. So i am going to do just that – reschedule.
I am going sit here and enjoy coffee and (maybe) get some #writing done and chill.

I really wish TweetBot wasn't gutted
I am using it right now and i think it is going to be a terrible experience. Everything is going to be updated once every two minutes and some notifications are not going to come through, and that really sucks. I god damn hate twitter (even more) now that they have taken away the only pleasant third-party app to utilize Twitter. Fucking annoying.
Anyway, there is nothing special happening tonight. Just #writing and Tweeting (bc my life is v boring).

it is 12:30 AM, i just woke up, and i felt like I have slept for 10+ hours. So going back to sleep is not a possibility at this point. What i will try to do is get some #writing done.

I guess I am paying for this platform. Finally.
I need to pay for a year of write.as because it has been my favorite #writing #app since i started #blogging (in 2006). It is like $50 a year (or $4 a month which i missed this month's payments (oops)). So i will go ahead and pay the $50 so i can have all the features because this platform truly does value your #privacy (though I wish there was a Yubikey 2FA option available), and this thing is incorporated w/ the Fediverse pretty well (Mastodon), and is just easy as fuck to use.
But also, I am getting pretty inspired to create more “content” or at least do more stuff online than I have been doing in the past two weeks. I am awaiting the EdX course to start on Oct.3 but that is a ways away (one month to the day, specifically). I need to find something to do before then, but I am good with spending this time reading #books that I have been meaning to catch up on as well. I have one from SLCL about book #publishing that I wanna get in to + another book by Bonnie Kristian that I wanna start (as soon as it arrives). I respect her and the amount of work she put into it (even though the subject matter is about religion, and I am atheist) and I ordered it from an indie bookstore that is in like....upstate NY or some shit because I
A) wanna support indie bookstores B) say “fuck you” to Amazon C) hope both the store and the author make more money than an Amazon or Books-A-Million sale would D) because I support the author and bookseller because I enrolled (or hope to enroll) in a possible online course that this upstate NY bookseller is offering that is about the publishing business.
As you can tell from that list + the book I am reading right now, I am thinking about giving a PRO book a go. “Pro” meaning I want to publish a book the legit way. A lot, a LOT of hard fucking work goes into writing/publishing a book though. I wrote a couple little books in the past that I made into #ebooks and I am proud of them, but I have one, ONE good book in me that needs to see the light of day.

Intentional #writing, i suppose. i said yesterday that i was going to get some writing done sometime soon here even though i am bogged down w/ #CS50x coursework these days (which is true), but, i figured this could be my little blog post of relevance (or irrelevance) for the time being.

It was filleted open like a fish today and they did all kinds of hideous and gross stuff to it in an attempt to make it disease-free, but at the end of the day the (very blunt) doctor said that he may end up going to a rehab facility across the street for his treatments bc of A) the length of the hospital stay, and B) they have more resources over there. The idea of him going there really upsets a lot of people because that building sort of has a reputation of killing my relatives bc we have had several go in and not come out. Fucked up operation they got going over there.
All this means he will miss out on the family reunion that is in September and also my cousins wedding, also in September. I am looking forward to both of these things, but then again, looking forward to both of them being over with because i would reallllly like to get my FACE tattoo relatively soon. It is going to be on the side of my head/sideburn area (right side). I am v much so looking forward to it.

How's Studying Going?
Very well!
I am ½ hour into Lecture 1 (which is actually L 2) and i understand everything just fine. I toyed around a bit w/ the terminal interface that the class is going to be using for #writing #code (which the URL i won't mention bc idk if i should), and i pre-downloaded all of the lectures (the “shorts”) ahead of time and have them filed away. A bit of this i have mentioned already.
But also, looking ahead towards the Final Project: I have a good amt of it mapped out in the “app notes” or whatever folder in TextEdit. I have a big section highlighted in bold for what the whole thing is going to look like, but not exactly what it is going to be doing “behind the scenes”, as it were. I will try to keep the code as minimal as possible just like i am going to be keeping the app as simple as possible, just like i am going to keep the directions on how to use the #app as simple as possible. #Simplicity is key!
Now, what i will be making for #CS50x is not going to be the final product necessarily. Definitely won't be. Because i really want to host this differently, and do a bunch of different shit w/ it that wouldn't necessarily match up to the standards of CS50x coursework. But it is all good.
Gonna be fun!

Looking At Old Bloggies
I wish I new proper CSS so I could make oleary.xyz LOOK nice, but I am not in that world right now (the #design world). Instead, I am learning legit #code and always #writing shit constantly so I have no time to figure out basic HTML commands (I mean they can be looked up in three seconds, but, it props isn't worth it).

I suppose that is the platform for which I would host the #app that I am building (should it be a Web app (probably won't be)). The goal (longterm) is to make a #mobile app and the deets I have mentioned in a #blog post somewhere on here before, but, I didn't go into much detail (& still won't) only because this is a fairly original, authentic concept and though others have done shit in the same vein, it is not what I am thinking of. If that makes sense? ..................................
Break in the #blog post because I had to get my ideas down on paper (TextEdit) because like many many many people have said before and I will repeat – until you have genuine ideas/plans down on paper, they are just thoughts!
So I am glad I got that all taken care of.
Also took a tip from (many) programmers I have seen in the past who rants and rave about Sublime Text for #writing #code and I am going to use that for my appy app ;)
So this is good. Drawing a lot of inspo, ideas from a lot of diff people around the WWW and I see myself making all of this happen in the months to come. I will be making a legit planner (like the one I have sitting next to me) with clear goals in mind and what I want to accomplish before January 2019. Then maybe I can set a badass NY Resolution with what I have done? idk.
Gotta get my goals down :D
