Man! The Cubs are really blasting the ball tonight! They're only in the 4th inning of this scheduled 7-inning Spring Training game against the Dodgers and are up 7-0. Three home runs already and lots of solid hits.

Back inside after this morning's battle with the weeds in the front yard. Hot and sweaty. Made good progress, but the war continues. Expect to reengage with the enemy in a few days.

Zombified! It's the tree pollens. They do it every time. According to reports our very high pollen counts today and over the last few days comes from ash, elm and cedar. Tree pollen in the air ALWAYS forces me to megadose the allergy meds. So it's either be sick with the allergies or be semi-here as a side-effect of the meds. It is what it is.

Today is gray, damp, and chilly here and the extended weather forecast says this will continue for the next several days. Not very cheery, that. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze a little yard work into my schedule during these days; that'll go a long way toward keeping my spirits up.

One week ago today we had sub-zero temperatures, snow, and ice. Today we have 75 sunny degrees outside, and I've got the front door and patio door open to get a cross breeze blowing through the house.

The past week's hard weather has killed off many of the plants in the flower beds across the front of my house. I'll be cleaning up some of that mess this afternoon.

I know some folks who refer to every Thursday as “Weekend Eve” and, for once, I can relate to that thought. This Thursday is the last day of our hard winter weather episode that has captured so much attention. Starting tomorrow and continuing through the weekend our weather will moderate. The Sun will shine every day and the temperature will rise. Thank God!

Very sad to hear that Rush Limbaugh died this morning. I tuned into his radio show and was surprised as his wife announced his passing. He will surely be missed!

Earlier today I saw my daughter post on Facebook that she was swearing off Facebook for Lent. That's 40 days starting tomorrow. Good news, that. The only reason I've been going to and posting to Facebook is for her benefit. Now I can stay away from Facebook for 40 days, too.
