Roscoe's Quick Notes

my micro-blog

I'm wondering if tonight's Zoom meeting will find me being assigned new responsibilities. I suspect that may be the case.

Sure glad that thunder storm last night didn't knock down any of the big branches from that huge old pecan tree in my front yard! Had me worried when the wind was blowing!

Making it somewhat easier for folks to reach me (or a little less difficult actually), I've updated the Contact Page on my personal blog.

Planning my upcoming week: in a few days I may go to a barber shop to receive my first professional haircut in a year. Yes, I'm due.

Time spent mowing the back yard was tiring but relaxing. And it left me with a sense of accomplishment when the job was done. On the other hand, setting up a printer with my computer was much more frustrating than it should have been. And I'm not 100% sure it's setup properly yet.

As of today I'm drinking less coffee, cutting out diet coke from my diet, and drinking LOTS more tea, Slim Tea today. Having less caffeine in my system may help me sleep better. And if I sleep better I may lose weight easier. Experimenting with different teas will be fun. We'll see what changes may come in my overall health, if any, over time, with these dietary changes.

Is a good morning nap in order before tackling the day's chess? Perhaps that's what's needed to clear last night's fog from my mind. And it's NEVER a good idea to work on chess (or do much of anything else, for that matter) with a fogged up mind! I mean, just look at Joe Biden for example.

Have just done a quick walk around my yard to see how much has recovered from the hard freezes a few weeks ago. The grass may come back if I take care of it right, but a lot of the big bushes, especially those by my back fence, appear to be dead, dead, dead. And there are some big branches that have fallen from some back yard trees.
