A regular Monday, this. Nothing outlandish or particularly noteworthy in the Roscoe-verse to comment on. It was much easier to follow the day's prayer regimen without the attention-sucking pull of Facebook. Was able to get to my chess games early and without interruption. And got my weekly laundry all done. All good Monday chores.

Today was a happy Father's Day for me. Sylvia took me out to a favorite restaurant for lunch. And I got happy Father's Day messages from stepson and his wife and grandchildren in the Philippines.

Early this morning I cancelled my Facebook account. Whew! THAT was a chore. But I'm glad I did it! And I put away the Portal unit in my room since it's no longer working, it being a Facebook device. I spent time this afternoon setting up and relearning the “Amazon Show” device my daughter gifted me a few years ago. It can replace the video-chat functions of the FB Portal, which was really the only worthwhile part of Facebook recently. At least to me. And...

Just as I was writing about the Amazon Show device, I received a video call on mine from my daughter on hers. Talk about timing... and we had a nice visit for over an hour. Also got to chat with a granddaughter, and a great-grandson, and exchanged “Happy Father's Days” with my son in law.

I'm leaving Facebook. Again. Those of you who have been following me there know that I've left before. That platform has become too untrustworthy and too frustrating for me to use. If any of you want to track me, any of the links on my link tree will work and will continue to be regularly updated. My phone still works and I can send and receive voice and text messages okay. Snail mail still works fine, too.

Today was frustrating in a number of ways, but I now have a much clearer picture of my limitations. I simply am no longer able to do some things that I used to do so well. I no longer have the energy to handle things I could do so well even a few years ago. Getting older is indeed a humbling experience.

Today was most significantly spent doing prep work for tomorrow afternoon when I lead a public Rosary service (Prayer Service) at a local Funeral Home for a good man who stood as a witness to our marriage, Sylvia's and mine, a few years ago.

Not a very productive day today. I did get quite a lot of reading done, and quite a lot of eating. At least I didn't spend any money, and I didn't break anything.

Today has been yet another “recovery” day, as I try to return to acceptable energy levels and physical steadiness following last Saturday's yard work, mowing the front yard. I feel confident now that I'll be able walk well enough to lead the public Rosary Friday at the funeral home.

Today was VERY much a recovery day. Yesterday's work out in the front yard totally wiped me out. And though I woke early again, I spent much of the day fogged out.

It was fun following a NASCAR Cup Race and a Texas Rangers MLB Game this afternoon. There's a Pacers / Thunder NBA Game starting momentarily, and I haven't decided whether or not to follow it. Guess I'll tune it in on the radio and start it.
