Following yesterday's physical work, today has been a day of relative physical rest. Much needed. Steps taken late yesterday that will occupy more of my time on most days going forward include reactivating my membership in another online chess club and registering in more correspondence chess games there. I also purchased and loaded onto my Kindle a 24-book omnibus of light fiction that may take me many weeks, possibly months to read through.

Spent an hour and a half midday doing yard work, picking up and cutting fallen branches in the back yard, mowing my half of the back alley, loading the green organics bin, then hauling it near the front of the house from where it will be easier to move it to the curb tomorrow morning for collection by the city. Hoping for a decent night's sleep tonight.

Following another night plagued with insomnia, this Tuesday hasn't been too bad. I did complete the weekly laundry chore that I'd let slide from yesterday. Kept up with my daily prayers and my chess games, and have no new major health complaints. Stayed acceptably active on my social media platforms, and generally stayed out of trouble. Really can't ask for much more than that.

So today is “National Nap Day.” At least that's what the guys on my morning radio said. And I did catch some nap time this morning rather than doing my weekly laundry, a regular Monday chore. The laundry can wait till tomorrow. This morning's nap helped catch up on sleep missed during last night's insomnia. I blame that insomnia on the time change. Hopefully tonight will bring a good sleep, leading into a good day tomorrow.

Today is the first full day of the time change, clocks having all bumped forward an hour at 02:00 in the morning. Some years this change hits me harder than others, and this seems to be one of the bad ones. Hopefully a good night's sleep, if I can find one tonight, will put me back in synch for a better Monday tomorrow than this has been a Sunday.

Following my sports today was uncommonly fun. Four games followed, and my teams won in all four. IU Softball won the 1st game, Texas Rangers won the next game, IU men's basketball won the 3rd game, and the Softball team won the 4th and final game.

Following IU sports today is fun. The Lady Hoosiers lost their early game against USC, but they nearly won. IU actually led at different times, and even in the final minutes they were in striking distance, but couldn't quite pull it out. It was an exciting game to follow. The Indiana baseball team is leading Penn State 6-1 now in the top of the 4th Inning, and I'm confident they'll cruise on to a victory.

A pretty good Thursday winds down. An unexpected chore this morning: replacing the American flag which had become shredded during that big wind which did so much damage locally. Didn't have another American flag handy that would fit my flag pole, but I did have a State of Texas Lone Star Flag that fits, so that's what's flying out front now.

This Wednesday has found me with more clarity of mind for more of the day, than for the last several days. Since Sunday, actually. I've gotten more work done over this time period than I normally do, and that's a good thing. But I've gotten to bed later than normal, too. Think I'll try putting head to pillow earlier tonight. Maybe that'll help me be more alert for more of the day tomorrow. I do hope things work out that way.

Spent nearly 2 hours this morning mowing the front yard and picking up sticks and branches that blew down in that big wind. And that nearly wiped me out for the rest of the day. Glad I stayed up to hear President Trump's speech though, that was really nice.
