Late Sunday morning and my day is shaping up nicely.
The wife asked me if the thunderstorm woke me last night, and I had to answer her truthfully saying that, no I didn't know it stormed. She said there was thunder and lightning, but I slept right through all that. Heh.
I've got more college basketball to follow this afternoon, and a Rangers game. So I'm happy.

We've not yet had any of the thunderstorms in my little corner of Texas that have been forecast for us, that others around the state and the country have been hit with. However, when I stepped outside a few minutes ago there was a light sprinkling of rain, and thunder rolling in the distance, so maybe it's on its way. So maybe...
This morning I retired my big laptop, again. The thing is well over twenty years old, so it's certainly time. Over the last couple of days it has silently crashed on me while being used normally. So it's time to put it to sleep. Two reasons for my liking it so much: it has a BIG 15.6 in. screen, and it's running a Debian OS.
I needed the big screen because my eyes have been so bad, until my recent cataract surgeries. Now that my eyes have been “fixed” using the smaller screens of my other two laptops is no problem. And one of the smaller laptops I've started using again runs a Linux Mint OS, so I'm still using Linux daily.

Late morning Friday finds me listening to the radio call of a Purdue vs Mich St. men's college basketball game. I've listed the games to follow all day long, ending with IU vs Nebraska, that game scheduled to start at 20:00.

Thank you, March Madness! I'll have radio coverage of college basketball games playing all day long back in my room. This will be the perfect background to whatever chores I happen to tackle.

Early afternoon Wednesday and the a/c unit is blowing cool air through the vents here in this joint. And once again I'm SO THANKFUL we have a good air conditioning unit!
The Rangers are playing a night game tonight, so I'll be following college basketball today.

Midday Tuesday and I've decided against doing any yard work today. A tough night's sleep last night and waking with arthritis pain in my shoulders and hands convinced me to yield to my wife's caution against doing such physical work so soon after my cataract surgery. It's been less than a week, and the nurses and doctor told me not to lift anything heavy, etc. during my recovery.

Late afternoon Monday and all is well in the Roscoe-verse.
Both eyes seem to be performing well. They work and cause me no pain or stress of any kind. I continue to use the eye drops as the doctor ordered.
Both chores that I'd set for myself were completed before the wife got home from her job. And the afternoon has been spent at leisure reading and listening to a Texas Rangers Spring Training Game.
Tomorrow may be a yard work day, depending on the weather.

One peaceful, restful Sunday winds down.
I continue to use the medicated eye drops as directed by the doctor, but the eye feels fine and seems to be working just fine.
The hips continue to feel stronger and more stable. I intend to take them outside and do some yard work this week, weather permitting.

An easy Saturday is in the works, (hope I didn't just jinx things by saying that.) Listening to the Alabama vs Arkansas men's college basketball game at the moment. Hopefully I'll be able to catch the Rangers Spring Training game this afternoon, and Svengoolie tonight.
I'm following the eye drops regimen mandated by the surgeon and holding to that schedule will be a major part of my days for the next 2 weeks. He's also told me not to lift anything heavy during this time. Weather permitting, I'll be mowing the lawn in a few days.

This has been a good Friday. Eye Surgeon removed the patch over my eye that had the cataract operation, and today I'm looking out at the world with 2 good eyes without glasses. Cataract replacement for my right eye happened early January, and cataract replacement for my left eye was yesterday. I've had very bad eyes and always worn glasses since I was a very young boy. I feel so blessed.
