Maybe you don't easily judge people based on what they wear, every once in a while, there would be open-minded people who don't judge you back with your lack of following social norms. Because guess what, if they are open-minded, they wouldn't want themselves to be judged easily for superficial things either.
Talking about clothes, have you ever thought that they might have a special interest in textiles? And not that they do it to make a statement about their finance or social standing? And actually those clothes are not even expensive, they just look like they are because the person has a good ratio of back/leg = ½, and it's the same ratio of anime characters even though they don't watch them.
See, this is the problem with denying selfishness and vanity. They don't have a correct assessment of who they are. They won't have correct assessments of other people. Not that it would be any easier to judge other people otherwise. But it would be clear that there are multiple reasons for one to do something and there are just as many reasons to be curious about it. Instead of slapping the first negative traits you refuse to accept about yourself and assign them as their motivations.
Young adults mostly wrote stories describing what happened and that was just it. But it was exactly why it was realistic and moving, and let you know about the lives of people different from you. I also read magazines for adults on topics of family and relationships. Because we had different reading materials for each member of the family. Those were for my mom. But I read everything because I had nothing else to do in a rural area. They didn't even sell watercolor. It was very boring and annoying as they tended to have lessons or moral judgments predetermined.
If your religion tells you that you are selfless. Then everything you don't have must be someone else taking it from you.
Of course one can be a legitimate victim and that shouldn't be something to be avoided to admit. But if besides being a victim, all the rest of you is selfless, empathetic and caring, then something is off.
Denying greed and you are victim of competitions. Denying incompetence and you are victim of homework.
When you are conditioned that your gender has no rage, the quickest way to solve a disagreement is to claim you are victims of genders. That's why denying aggression goes together with being paranoid.
Actually I wanted to go for physics at first. Then I read too much shoujo and got distracted with wild imagination and settled down with literature because it's less competitive there.
