Monday Night Football
It's what's up now in the Roscoe-verse: Broncos vs Titans.
If I can stick with the game tonight up to half-time, that's as much football as I'll try to handle before bedtime.
The adventure continues.

... Quarterbacking for the Pittsburgh Steelers is an absolute joy. His passing is crisp and precise. And he just led the Steelers to a touchdown on their first series of downs.

Earlier this afternoon I enjoyed listening to the IU Hoosiers Football Team win their game vs. Kennesaw State. I studied at Indiana University many years ago and still cheer for the IU sports teams. My son-in-law graduated from IU, and he and my daughter follow and cheer for the Hoosier sports teams as I do. So I know that they were, if at all possible, following this game and are as happy with the win as I am.
My grandson-in-law is from Ohio and graduated from another Big Ten School; he and my granddaughter are major fans of that other Big Ten school and its sports teams. The Ohio State Buckeyes Football Team is playing Grambling State now and is leading 28-0 in the 1st half, and I'm sure the grandson-in-law and my granddaughter are, if at all possible, following the game as I am. And I'm sure they're enjoying this score as I am.
My enjoyment of these two games is magnified, knowing that I have family enjoying them, too.

Tonight I'm presented with an NFL Game to watch (Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers), a MLB Game (Texas Rangers vs Houston Astros), and a WNBA Game (Indiana Fever vs Chicago Sky). I choose to spend my time with the Fever.

Earlier this morning I scored my first Correspondence Chess win by Checkmate of September. This Club Tournament game began on 04 August of this Summer and ended exactly one month later when my Black Queen Mated the White King, with support from my g6 Bishop covering the King's only flight square.

I was able to slip outside this morning and spend an hour doing yard work. Extreme weather and my general level of physical decrepitude have conspired to keep me inside and away from those common lawn care chores I used to enjoy doing. Today I picked up big fallen branches in the back yard and pruned back two bushes back there which had grown wild. My big green organics bin is now stuffed full to overflowing and is ready to be collected by the City tomorrow morning.

Man, I've lost track of how many times I've joined, then got disgusted and quit that service over the years. This time around I'm in for a year, at least. Having forked over dough for a year's worth of “X Premium” membership and wanting to get my money's worth out of that operation, 'ya know.

I'm staying up past my bedtime to catch tonight's Indiana Fever vs Los Angeles Sparks game. I know, I know, Caitlin Clark's not going to be playing. She's still out with the groin injury. But she's been doing shoot-arounds with her team. And rumor has it that she may play in one of the Fever's late August or early September games. So...
