Oh sure, I could watch tonight's World Series on the TV. It's on FOX for crying out loud. But where's the fun in that? I really don't like all the Network hype.

So I've fired up my little Raspberry Pi 400, opened up a browser window to listen to the radio call of the game broadcast by 105.3 the Fan, and another window to follow the game stats updated in real time via MLB's Gameday srvice. This is how I choose to follow the games

Saturday afternoon and feeling better (less bad?) than I've felt at this hour of the day for the last few days. This morning was still tough for my hips, but not as tough as the last few days have been. And today's morning health metrics (body weight and blood pressure) were excellent for the 2nd day in a row.
Half-time now of my 2nd college football game of the day, and after this game I'll have the 2nd game of the World Series to follow. Yes, I'm having a happy sports-following Saturday.

Friday evening, less than an hour before Game 1 of the 2023 Word Series. Go Rangers!
Assessing my experiment of last night, sleeping in my reclining office chair rather than my bed, yields mixed results: On the one hand, my health metrics this morning, following that sleep, were simply fantastic! According to the bathroom scales, my body weight was down 3 lbs. from the day before. And my blood pressure was excellent.
But on the other hand, my hips were in worse shape than they have been in a long time. Pain, weakness, and general wonkiness was worse than it's been for a long time. And improving the condition of my hips ia what this experiment was all about.
Tonight I'll repeat the experiment. And I'll try to set the room up differently to allow a better sleep. Hope it works.

So I'm trying an experiment this Thursday night. Thinking that my old mattress may be causing most of my restless nights and the pains in my hips, especially in the morning, I'll be sleeping in my big reclining office chair tonight. It's actually pretty comfortable. I doze off in it sometimes during the day.

What a bland Wednesday this has been. An uneven sleep last night found me waking uncomfortably and moving through the day almost on autopilot.
The hips were more troublesome today than they've been for awhile. Trying to move through basic stretching exercises for the hips was frustrating and painful.
Maybe tonight will bring a better sleep, and tomorrow a better day.

A pretty good Tuesday winds down.
Wonkiness of the hips was more manageable today than it has been for a long time. That's very good.
A quick email exchange with a KofC officer answered a question that's been bugging me for weeks. That's good, too.

Monday early evening finds me patiently waiting for Game 7 of the MLB ALCS between my Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros. The winner of this game will face the National League Champion in the World Series. Man! I'd love to see my Rangers in the World Series. First pitch of tonight's is scheduled for less than an hour from now.

Another quiet, peaceful Sunday winds down.
I'm listening to game 6 of the ALCS and hoping my Rangers win.
Hips are still a problem, kept me home from Mass again. /sigh.

Three major elements to this Saturday: budget work, college football, and Svengoolie .
This appears to be a “meh” day re: my hips, so far. I've had worse mornings, and better mornings. If this day continues as my morning has, I'll not complain.

One very fast moving Friday is now slowing down. Thank God.
It was not a particularly good day for my hips. Thinking I was more healed than I actually was, I neglected to apply the ointment to my hips in the morning. And I failed to take my morning pain meds. And I paid for that all day long.
Lesson learned. I'll be more responsible re: my hips tomorrow morning.
