Midday Tuesday and things in the Roscoe-verse are moving at a much more sensible pace. The hectic activity of the last several days is behind me now, thank God.
Waiting now on Sylvia to get home from work. She and I have plans to eat lunch at a favorite restaurant.

Today was very productive, much busier than expected. Much busier than most Mondays, which are often among the very busiest days of the week. So naturally I'm tired and ready for bed.

So Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest
Rest? I hope to get some physical rest today, at least. I'm pretty sore from all the walking and picture taking yesterday, supporting a 4th Degree Honor Guard. I plan to stay home today and busy myself at the computers with writing, photo editing, organizational work, correspondence, etc. So... rest in a sense, I guess.

Right on schedule, waves of fatigue are washing over me. Had a very good morning, not as a member of the Honor Guard but working with the 4th Degree Knights in a supporting role, taking pictures, etc. Of course that meant spending a lot of time on my feet, walking around the Hall and taking pictures for hours on end.
After all that physical activity today I really should take it very easy tomorrow. Staggering my work days with rest days is something I think I can handle again.

Fasting now and hungry. With a 14:00 lab appointment I've been instructed to fast since midnight. And I've done about all I can responsibly do until I get something to eat.
Expecting a KofC Officer to pick up some forms soon; I've got them ready for him.

Logged into one of my online CC (Correspondence Chess) clubs just now to move in my pending games, when I was surprised at the following message sent to me:
“Congratulations on being the winner of your group in the 1st round of Casual Chess section, 225th GameKnot tournament!
“2nd round will start on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023.”
I thought I still had active games in that group.
Then I saw the next message:
“In accordance with GK tournament rules, one or more of your games in 225th GK tournament, round 1 have been automatically adjudicated because they are among the last 1% of unfinished games in your tournament section. Each game was evaluated by a chess engine, up to 20 moves ahead, and a probable outcome was decided based on the current position. Please note that this only affects the tournament table and the tournament results — the games remain in progress and can be finished normally. Which means they are no longer considered to be part of the tournament, but you can continue playing them and they will affect your rating and stats as usual at the time they are finished.”
Huh! The AI (chess engine) decided I was likely to win each adjudicated game. So the club scored me as the winner. Well, thanks, I guess.
I try to stay away from chess engines. Never use them myself, and avoid knowingly playing against them. Always prefer playing against real humans. But if one wants to declare me the winner in a few tournament games... well, I'll take my wins however they come.

I've got all my gear ready for tonight's Assembly meeting, but the wife seems to be running late with her meal prep. I wish now I'd opted to bring pzzas for the guys, rather than let Sylvia fix her “specialties”. But the guys have been asking for her food, and she does love to cook.

Satisfied with this Tuesday. A short nap this morning left me fresh and alert for lunch and dessert out with Sylvia. Tomorrow will be long and, possibly stressful. A good night's sleep should help me prepare for it. Hope I get one.

As Mondays go, this one has been okay. In researching a membership situation I found information that is going to disappoint some people. Pity, that. If all involved had only done their homework it would have eliminated the hard feelings that are going to be involved in the resolution of the problem. Oh well, I'm just the guy who uncovered the truth – eight years after the mistake had been made.

I spent the major part of this Sunday, from approx. 07:30 to 14:15 working a BBQ fundraiser with my KofC Council. Bushed now, but glad I got to spend so much time with my friends.
