Not a bad Wednesday, this. I started with a 1 mile walk in the neighborhood before the heat became too unbearable. Then the wife took me out to lunch at a favorite restaurant. and in the afternoon I was able to complete a rather involved KofC administrative task. Three major elements to my day, that's enough.
And now I'm relaxing to old episodes of Star Trek. That'll do just fine until it's time for prayers, reading, and bed.

It's been a productive Tuesday. Got two hours of back yard work accomplished in the morning before the heat drove me back inside. Trimmed a few branches from the big tree in the back yard and cleared out my part of the alley.

A very pleasant Monday, this. Was able to take care of some bothersome business that's been like a dark cloud over us for months. The wife and I can can move forward now with much more peace of mind than we've had for some time.

Having a restful Sunday. So far. Last night's rough, insomnia-filled “sleep” was followed by a morning that found me feeling significantly less than 100%, so I stayed home from Sunday morning Mass. I've learned that when I'm feeling unwell it is best to lay very low and do as little as possible.
Tomorrow will be a full day. Hope I can meet it well-rested.

I may have “overdone” it again. Spent well over an hour pruning low-hanging branches from a big ash tree in the front yard and stacking them by the curb for Monday's pick up day. Today was another triple digit heat day, and I wanted to get that work done before it became unbearably hot this afternoon. As the afternoon has worn on I've developed some serious fatigue and a steady headache. So....
Even though I've got clothes set out for tomorrow morning's Mass, and the weekly offering envelope all filled out, and my Missal marked... if I'm still feeling less than 100% tomorrow morning, this old boy is going to stay home.

This Friday has been a “recovery day,” following on the heals of two busy KofC days. And as such I didn't push myself very hard and tried to remain calm in the face of those few little problems that seem to pop up every day.

My Thursday will be a long one. Miscommunication between the family of deceased, the Funeral Home, and the Church where the Funeral Mass will be held later today has me and the Honor Guard scheduled to be at the Church several hours before we actually need to be. /sigh
Communication is always such a challenge.

One very full Wednesday draws to a close. I was pleasantly surprised at the good number of Sir Knights in uniform at this evening's Rosary Service. And the whole thing went very well. Tomorrow will be the Funeral Mass and Burial. Hope those go well, too. Tired now. Soon to bed.

My Tuesday started really early; I was up with insomnia at 03:00 and unable to get back to sleep, though I tried. So I put feet to floor and began my morning routine (prayers, etc.) at 04:00 and moved on through a busy morning. Lots of KofC chores (research, posting an Assembly notice, comms with other officers), went out to lunch with the wife at a favorite restaurant, then took in an afternoon movie at the theater. So it's no surprise that the physical and mental clumsiness should be hitting me early this evening. And that means bedtime is near.

Hard to believe the Summer is half over. Watching the local news just now with all the 4th of July warnings, swimming pool notifications, etc. I realized that this is what is traditionally considered the mid-Summer holiday. Memorial Day at the end of May often Considered the 1st Summer holiday, Labor Day in early Sept. considered the last Summer holiday, and tomorrow's 4th of July Independence Day the middle of Summer. Already. Man!
